Bought 3 megas, at retail ($50). 1 numbered in each, 1 auto. Got lucky and pulled a Brett Farve Urban Legend (1:510). The Chrome Black are beautiful. Bought one blaster of basketball and glad that's all I bought. Massive difference in design and appearance.

So actually the TOPPS Composite Has All Sets 1963, 1973 and 2003 TOPPS, Chrome, chrome cosmic, chrome Black, Allen & Ginter, finest, gallery, midnight, and resurgence! they are all unlicensed with notable rookies, legends, and Hall of Famers

I have a Youthquake RC of Julian Alvarez From Manchester City(not with them anymore + he’s plays with Argentina international) and just realizing they had youthquake cards of Kobe Bryant, I hope Topps makes a comeback and hopefully they get licensed. I’m a Topps guy, but I can’t lie Panini’s Prizm and Optic are just as good.

Well above average boxes from everything I've seen so far, full disclosure I've only seen about a dozen of each opened. They look nice but seems about a 10% ROI seems to be the norm so far.

I dont think you can say the paper are overprinted in this product. Most packs only have 2 or 3 paper cards and they are all different subsets. You get more chrome cards in each pack. Now they dont have the same demand, thats true but production/rarity is the same imo.

A great set by Topps prefer Hobby for value & enjoyment great idea TB12 auto. I love the vets from 49ers & Pats. Totally agree with your take on quality of Football versus Basketball cards. The 73 card design take me back to Australian football cards in 1970's that used American designs. Another great video RGL🛵

Yes all 1970's up to 82 or 83 Topps football cards are unlicensed. All those big HoFers, Bradshaw,Payton,Staubach,Montana all no logos. Fleer had an NFL license but no Players License and Topps had the Players but not the league.

@moaf2padventures757 I think it's just more about litigation and "intellectual properties" these days than it was back then, so like Panini with their baseball just doesn't want to take the chance of putting the team name on there for fear of lawsuits from Topps. Whether they win or lose that's still money and time wasted on a frivolous lawsuit, so play it safe and don't even mention the team name.

I bought a hobby and 5 megas. I gotta tell u the megas are far better. Megas produced a levis /175 auto shaun alexander /15 auto and a lynn dickey /25 auto. Hobby gave me base tony richardson. /150 irving fryar auto and a /20 earl campbell patch auto. Also mega government enough numbered cards too. Got a /10 aikman and a /25 sproles too

I agree the price of all 2023 boxes are way too high, I touch on this in the video. But Prizm is $1600+, select $950+, Optic $850+, so this being half the cost of other flagship sets and unlicensed is correct given the landscape of the market. Remember, $400 a box is secondary price, and it was originally released at $269 a box and those preorders sold out in seconds. So it was initially offered at $270 compared to Panini offering Select at $940. Properly scaled. The main chases are four rookie QB autos and Tom Brady, who has had no cards in 2022 & 2023 Panini. Most of the coveted Brady's featured in this set Chrome Gold's & better) are very expensive in their 2016 & prior counterparts if you can even find them on the market at market price. As for everything else, I do believe there is value to be found. Guys like Montana/Manning and even guys like Brian Dawkins, Daunte Culpepper, JJ Watt very rarely had/have patch autos in Panini products outside higher end stuff like Flawless/Immaculate/etc. You can make an argument that the non-auto higher numbered stuff will not hold value and I agree. But again remembering this is a Chronicles-esque product, Chronicles has always been more affordable and singles have always been lower than other stand alone sets. These cards look significantly better than the 90's licensed cards you mentioned. That's the truth. I'll take a Cosmic White Steve Young SSP for $15 all day over 1998 Bowman's Best Refractor /400. Set is not perfect, but has a lot of good things going on for it and shows strong promise for Topps reentry into NFL.
