Very interesting. I have never seen this show before. I am a DVC member since February, 1998. We have 525 points, having added on to our original 210 at OKW. Our home resorts are also in Vero Beach and Hilton Head. Yes, it took quite some time to figure out working the points and I totally enjoyed listening to you describe how you guys work your points. DVC is one of the best investments we ever made.

This show is dangerous. We were sort of half heartedly considering buying into DVC and listened to the whole podcast over a couple of days and then immediately bought in! Now looking for a resale contract to add on! Great info. Thanks so much for the show!

Great show Pete! I’m not a DVC owner but a DVC point renter. For someone like me, I gain a lot of information on DVC from these shows that helps me with planning my stays! Thank you!

My favorite Aulani view, was the garden view. We watched the luau at night, and enjoyed the show even from far away. We watched movies from our balcony. And it was quiet during the day! We did have the slightest view of the lagoon too!

I cannot say it enough, I adore Pete, Sean, and Corey! I am not a DVC Member (I own timeshare under different companies), but watch, like, and subscribe, anyway!🥰😂👍🏽

16:10 talking about using points at non DVC timeshare properties. This goes for just about any timeshare system, the best use of the points will always be using them for their intended purpose of booking at resorts in the timeshare system. Booking hotel stays, car rentals or cruises with points will never be worthwhile and should only be an option of last resort if you would otherwise have points expire.

To add, this is another reason why when people ask for the ability to use points to buy park tickets, they won't like the costs. It simply won't be a good value use of your points. Stop hoping to be able to use points to buy park tickets, it will just make you mad at DVC.

Best use of points is OKW 3 bedroom Grand Villa. They are huge and are a fraction of other resorts. Also the Treehouses at SSR are a steal for the price point. They do have the shuttle bus issue.

I think the tree house units will look AMAZING after a refurb

We are staying in a 1 bedroom Villa at Saratoga Springs on our 1 year wedding anniversary October 8-15 for the first time. We stayed at a 1 Bedroom Villa at Old Key West on our honeymoon October 11-18, 2020.

Please request a REFURBED room! They’re gorgeous - for the same points. And Happy Anniversary!

Can you give me an example on why I should not use my points for DCL and I should rent them instead. Then take the money to use on the cruise.

To me OKW isn’t a deluxe resort. To some it definitely is. I’m only 29 and from 🇬🇧 Stayed there 2 weeks and although the rooms were massive, the sit down dining options (just 1) and facilities didn’t warrant the price. We felt very disconnected from the parks, but know a lot of people like that. I think a lot of people love it, either because of nostalgic reasons or the massive rooms. We did absolutely love the fact the bus stops were always empty for it though, so it definitely has that perk at 10pm at the MK 😂 Staying at Yacht club + wilderness for a total of 21 days this year. Can’t wait to get back!

I’m glad that Fiasco mentioned us traveling from out of state. Our favorite is Boardwalk even though our home is SSR. The proximity to Epcot & HS is key. You have to get in on Hilton Head prior to March because after they book up real quick.
@tivomike3 жыл бұрын
Do you find success booking at Boardwalk at the 7 month window being a SSR owner? I ask because if my contract passes ROFR, I’ll be a SSR owner as well, and I’d love to stay at the Boardwalk 1 Bedroom.

Pete I’m right there with you. I know where I want to stay and that’s where I use my points. My home resort is Poly and I usually book over Thanksgiving. But now I have ideas for when I want to see about a quick last minute for maybe an overnight.
@tivomike3 жыл бұрын
Being a Poly owner, do you know if the week of December 7th is typically open for the 7 month window usually? I’m a SSR owner and curious if that’ll be a possibility for me this year.

What is the perk for staying at the Boardwalk specifically on the 5th floor Sean referenced to?

Staying at Vero Beach before a cruise is a great idea! We always stay at a hotel near Port Canaveral. As a DVC member it would be a great vacation to visit Vero Beach before a cruise. Sounds relaxing 😎🌴

If you are using points to get a kitchen, then use the kitchen to cook real meals. If you are going to eat in Disney restaurants, then get a studio.

1,200 points @ an average of $8.25/pp based on average of all resorts equals $9,900 yearly or $825 per month.
@tivomike3 жыл бұрын
It must be quite a bit - he owns approx 1,200 points he says. If rates are averaging $7, that’s about $8,400. Not terrible.
