The 890 Jump is that first ship I really dedicated myself to pledge for way back when it first got announced and boy am I happy I did so. Back then I got it for 600 USD and with LTI and even if I waited for 5 years give or take before it got released, it was worth they wait and I still fly it everyday...

I love it as well, i’d love to fly it daily but its soo slow. I’ve found that the best of 2 worlds is storing my 325a inside the hangar so i don’t have to dock.

Origin is my favorite brand, and I'd probably buy an 890J if CIG offered a CCU to it. I'm also playing the 'CCU game,' so I'd want to get the 890J for half price like the rest of my ships. I flew one at the last IAE, but its handling leaves much to be desired, as one might expect from a large vessel. Where it really shines is the experience that its interior offers to its passengers. This is a ship where you probably don't want the fastest quantum drive, because, to borrow an old cliche, it's more about the journey than the destination.

I couldn’t agree more, and think you make some excellent points! It is a shame that they don’t offer a CCU to this ship, because it is quite expensive without those discounts; something (in tandem with war bound discounts) that every player should look into! And it really does handle like a boat haha! Although the spaciousness of its interior and the overall design really is unparalleled! Walking around one while it’s being flown is an incredible experience! It’s practically the same size as most FPS maps in other games! Decided to pick one of these up as I needed a med bed ship, didn't like the cutlass, and had just talked a guy down by $3500 on a new car. Have not regretted it yet, and I basically live out of the thing now, using green glade to store all my things off planet, and bed logging on the 890 nearly every night. As a large org player, its nice to have something meaty to offer to the fleet too

I wish the 400i could fit in the 890 and the 300 and/or 100 series in the 600i I could see the 890 taking the 400i as far as it can before needing to turn around and sending it off on a journey into the void.

It’s such a fantastic ship and an excellent carrier! I haven’t used it for much mission running myself, but suspect it does a great job in a lot of roles! @@ViciDeum We used 890j during jumpTown aswell made alot of UEC few fighters in hanger / medicalbed / garage had ursa rover we lowered filled with boxes and raised to unload nobody can steal from locked ursa. + if u set shields to max power on 890j it lowers the damage by 30% or more i forgot we survived 4 nuke hits not same time explosion lost count how many torps hit us and rammers even rammed a hh to death. the medical bed is a godsent

The 890J is awesome, and Origin makes some fantastic designs! It’s definitely hard to pickup one in-game, but it’ll depend on your preferred money-making loop. Honestly, running Urgent Boarding action is an easy answer, but you could always chain combat beacons, bounty hunting, or salvage for a change of pace!

I wish it handled a bit better in atmosphere, that makes it almost useless for bunkers as it takes so long to slow and maneuver it as it seems to want to fall from the sky once in atmosphere. The VTOL jets need a little more power to counter its weight in Atmosphere. The Carrack is much more flyable in atmosphere so I usually use it instead of the 890j, plus the 890j can't use hangers like most ships can.

Seriously, it's a monster in atmo! Hopefully it gets a little more VTOL support, or you'll need a very specific reason to bring it out!

That’s the 300i! It’s a great runabout but you could use the 325a, 350R, or 315P to even better effect depending on your use case; combat, speed, storage/tractor beam!

How many people can it carry? All I've seen was the crew being a maxium of 5 which doesn't really make sense if you think about service personnel. And then you mention search and rescue.

There are more than a dozen beds onboard but in terms of overall transport capacity, quite a large amount; this ship is massive! Atm, the entire server can fit inside one. In the future it’ll be contingent entirely on the life support systems available, but I imagine 50 comfortably at least for shorter voyages!

@@AvantStrangel Bro, actual landing zones have the most bugged bartenders. How tf they gonna add that to the 890. Give em at least 5 years. It needs an interrior redesign. "Luxury" doesn't mean large wasted space with glass railings everywhere. They dropped the ball, most rooms don't have the amenities that'd come from 5 star cruise ships. Newer ships have actual fridges with stocked food for example. Hopefully the kitchen gets all that good stuff added to it.

Clicking the middle mouse button to engage the missiles brings them out and clicking it again recesses them back! You can do this on ships that have them on launchers to checkout this animation!

No idea what the allure is to this ship for people, other than it looking incredible. I bought one for 33 mil in game and the first time I went from A to B, I wanted to pull my teeth out. Quantum driver cannot be upgraded and has the worst spool up time a ship could have. It's over 1 minute, so if you need to say, go around a planet, and hit an outer marker or two, it will take what feels like an eternity. Do people really sit and play this to just constantly walk around this ship? Because that's all there is to do with it, other than show it off to people that unless newbs, aren't going to be impressed. Where would one make money on this doing any of the things mentioned in this video? Not being a hater at all, but time alone to get even a single person on board for advertising VIP transport. Exploration? Will that ever be a thing? Took me a week to see everything in SC so just don't understand that one. Touring? Haha, see what I mentioned on VIP trans. Search and rescue, the people would die by the time this ship got to them and you'd pay a whole lot more to get there than the 15k offered for a beacon mission. I truly love SC and have spent over $2,200 on it in pledges, but I honestly can't ever spawn this ship again because it's quantum sucks as bad as it does. I can see it as an HQ, but hope one of these days they fix the ship saved states, since ALL ships in SC bug out to minor annoyances, or complete breaks to where you have to reclaim them in as little as only one bed log. I may someday even buy it for cash, but really trying to understand one thing this ship can do better than any of my other 13 ships, other than look incredible.

Those are good points about the ship in the current game. Atm its not very useful besides being a damage sponge, but even then its rather unwieldly. Ultimately though, once proper gameplay loops and other systems are in, it'll be a beast at so much!

Not only that, but there is an established precedent of modern cruise ships assisting in rescue and relief operations in the real world! I agree that some cruise ships, may act as transport vessels or be repurposed as floating hospitals (although it's extremely rare), but the 890 Jump wouldnt fit into public cruise ship territory. For its size and passenger capacity and ammenities, it's more like a luxury private yatch, and I've yet to hear of an oligarch's or Bezos-style billionaire's yatch being used to ferry refugees anywhere.🤣🤣👍👍

Star Citizen is still very much in development, and these guides are intended to highlight the uses at release. There aren’t many reasons to buy the larger ships atm but they will once these full features are implemented. That said, I encourage you to take your viewership elsewhere if my content doesn’t interest you. There are plenty of other fantastic creators who cover current in-game mechanics.
