@@24hourstime Hi Oleg, well, it came, and yes, the strap was crap, I put it on a Nato immediately, and yes the crown is small, and it says Calvin Klein, However, this piece is a steal! Well built with all the specs, who cares about the name, its my first Swiss Automatic, and I am proud to wear it, I could give a rats ass about what anyone thinks, like where I'm from, nobody looks at your wrist, they don't even know what a nato strap is. Randy Turk I love mine and yes a steal. But the strap is solid - i twisted it a bunch to loosen it up and put it on a more strictly sport watch and it is great on that one.

Michael A have two of these (blue and black) and they sound about the same loudness as the two NH35s i have, though the Seiko rotors seem to be a little smoother moving.

I ordered one. We'll see how it goes. I could care less about the brand name on the face and care much more about the quality of the product I am getting. I think another neat aspect to this watch is it will appeal to my non watch enthusiast friends more than a brand geared towards enthusiasts will and I will then have an opening to discuss swatch and swiss movements. Definitely puzzling, but I think this is a rather good showing from a fashion brand.

They're not though. This release was an anomaly to the equation, as it wasn't selling well at its retail price. Hence why it now appears to be good value for money through third party vendors who bought them in bulk.

Jazz Sounds Usually you can feel the tension building, the crown requires more strength to turn. This ones protected, you can't overwind it. But you should know that ETA is known for braking if you wind it too often manually. Only wind a few times to get it ticking, leave the rest to your wrist.

Jazz Sounds I think its within specs, but yeah thats a bit of a bummer, luck of the draw with internet stuff. If it bothers you, get it regulated by a watchmaker, shouldnt cost too much, alternatevly you can try different positions overnight. Close the bracelet and leave crown upside or downside while you sleep for example.

Hi Oleg, quick update! I ordered one at $149 with slickdeal discount, and received it two days ago. I just finished a two day accuracy test on the wrist, and it's running +1 sec. for the two days! Again, even with the CK name on it, it seems like decent quality fit & finish & looks good with the mesh bracelet I put on it. The movement alone is selling for $175 or more on ebay.....so.. ;-)

Can't argue value for money. I would not wear anything from Calvin Klein. Also, a dress watch should be smaller I think. 37 or 38mm 40mm tops. The price is 180 now. I wonder how hard it would be to take out the movement and flip it over and use black paint to cover the Calvin Klein name to ghost it.

@Jiu-Jitsu Uncle i like 34-36 for dress when you hit 38 the lugs are usually closer to 50mm which is not acceptable for a dress watch imho. If you have 99th percentile wrist size then maybe 38 would be ok.

Interesting study in consumer perceptions. If these specs were on a kickstarter watch, people would be lined up for them. I recently purchased a Dufa with similar specs NIB and thought I stole it for $250 but, Calvin Klein? I was intrigued by the above video and decided to check out the watch on the Ashford site. Yes, the watch was on offer for $158- Dollars and from what I could see it looked great for the price so I decided to order one with the white dial. I must admit that I later had buyers remorse while waiting for the watch to arrive after having realised that I purchased a cheap fashion watch which definitely goes against my grain, but all those doubts vapourised as soon as I opened the box and realised that this was truly a once-off bargain for a classic Swiss dress watch costing next to nothing in terms of what you get. Forget about the Kelvin Klein name for a moment, nobody except yourself will actually care what you are wearing on your wrist. Instead, realise that this is an entry-level quality automatic dress watch that's probably manufactured by Tissot. At the moment, the watch only gains a second a day, and the rotor is much quieter than any other Japanese watch I own, so yes I'm absolutely delighted with the watch. Thank's Oleg for the great video and tip. I now have a quality Swiss watch that cost me next to nothing that I will enjoy wearing for many years.

@@ghettotraveller2027, The ticking of the watch may be a little louder than the other Japanese movements that I have in my collection seeing that it has a fast beat rate of about 2,800 beats per second, but I can hardly notice it at all as my hearing has diminished over the years. It's a proven very stable accurate movement and probably little superior to all the other watches I have. Try to avoid using the manual wind too much with this ETA movement, as over the years this has been known to give problems. Give a few turns only with the crown or even better shake the watch gently side to side to wind for about six minutes if it completely runs down. And in case you are not aware, there is a special way to set the date, check out the videos on KZbin for more information. This watch is clearly a quality Tissot manufactured piece. Wishing you many years of good use from this beautiful watch.

Just to clarify there are multiple grades of 2824 and this has the standard grade and doesn't use the incabloc anti shock "system" and is only adjusted in 2 positions so its max daily var is +-30 spd with a +/- 12 spd average. The standard grade 2824 is not 200 dollars. Its 175 on ebay right now but that's consumer pricing; If you have a business account with parts supply firms the price is much lower. An over-sized Chinese case with a sapphire crystal and a standard 2824 for 200 is not really that crazy of a deal.

Interesting watch. Then again, I am not fond of fashion brands and their effects on the industry. I am probably one of your older viewers and in my day it was all about quality. I just don't get this idea of appropriate watch for wear? Wouldn't that constitute fashion? Who makes up these fashion rules? The watch police?))) Probably the Swiss to bounce back after the quartz crisis. I happen to prefer dive watches. I wear my Doxa, Jenny, and Anonimo anytime, whether I am wearing a suit or shorts, so what. It is funny how some "watch people," looks down on a "fashion watch" and proclaimed: due to the use of low-quality material/construction and its high markup (general negative connotation)... Yet now a fashion brand stepped up their game, but their snobbery and prejudice remained. Another interesting video - thanks Oleg. The branding doesn’t bother me at all... could be much worse (as many at Aliexpress). The ETA2824 is such a benefit... that sweep is oh-so smooth! This movement and sapphire crystal add much to the desirability of any watch, in my opinion. I would have preferred white hands and indices a-la Speedmaster. Nonetheless, at the price, this CK is unbeatable.

I can't understand the design, it seems bad with intent: 1. Take 1000 people who will wear this, will they choose this size or a size smaller? 2. Take the same 1000, would they want the pointless inner-track apart from the minute track? 3. And the the winding crown size - surely watch makers know this will be used as it's not quartz. 4. The drawcard is the movement and it's high market price, but I can assure you the market price of a movement is not the cost price. PS New marketing trick is a sapphire crystal vs 'Sapphire coated mineral crystal glass'. Know the different and make sure the seller does, too.

Interesting ... a new ETA 2824-2 runs well over $200.00. One slight disagreement... there are some watches available with ETA 2892-A2, for well under $1,200.00. The 2892 which is based on the 2824-2 but with several upgrades, most importantly to improve the rotor bearings which tend to be subject to degradation with the 2824-2. It comes only in elabore (sic?) grade or higher, has 42 vs 38 hour power reserve, and is more attractively decorated compared to the 2824-2. Excellent value, nice watch, great specs...But couldn't bring myself to wear a CK watch. Damn shame- if only the factory could release a sterile dial version! Cheers 👍

Yeah....but no. Not into fashion houses making watches even if they do appear to look good value. CK just says “Crap Klock”! Good review nonetheless Oleg! You’re a real leveller chucking on the Casio for the gym. When I wear mine, different models, they truly make you appreciate the value in anything that tells time. To me Casio IS a real watch👍🏼😎
