I found it very interesting that the Ecotree was not as good as several KZbinrs have reported including the one you borrowed your test battery from but I suppose if I was either offered free or Highly discounted items I too would jump on that train. Hello there, apologies for the tardy post but I've only come across your channel today. I bought my first motorhome at the end of April this year and already had my batteries waiting. I got 2×100ah renogy lifepo4 with a bt2 Bluetooth for £920 total which was in my opinion extremely good value. What sold them to me was the rated 4000 cycles as opposed to the new stock and indeed the 200ah you test on here of 2000 cycles. A few weeks later I thought about what the cycle life meant in years which turned out to be on my batteries a full cycle (80% dod) every day for 10 and a half years. I doubt I could reach 2000 cycles in 15 yrs but I'm going to have a blinking good try 😁. Thanks for the vid. It's good to have a review that's relevant to us brits. Cheers 🍻.

Great informative vid chap 👍 All i would add is if you buy a LiFeP04 battery without a low temperature cut off you can buy a solar charge controller with one 👍 if like me it's a combined charge controller and BtoB you have both charge methods covered. I did go the DIY battery route so I'm looking forward to the next vid 👍

The only issue with that is that the low temp sensor needs to be on the cells. If it's anywhere else then you can still be trying to charge cells that are too cold if your solar charge controller gets up to temp before the cells do.

@@AndrewBenbow Totally chap 👍 i use a Renogy DCC50s which has a remote temp sensor, on the cells 👍 One of the downsides to going DIY is i now have a wooden battery 🤣 i may upgrade to plastic normal style at a later date, they look more professional 👍

I had 200ah polinovel bluetooth on my last van, I now have 2 x 200ah of bluetooth compact KS energy in this van, more than 30% less cost of the polinovel , and no difference (obvs low temp cut out not avail on the polinolvel) . Only thing Id say is maybe KS energy app is a little more clunky as mine are the compact version that need KS app v 2.0. Recommend KS all day long me

Just a warning on homemade batterys some insurance companies won't cover them for fire my company said they don't when asking about if I had lithium they said if its company branded they will insure

Team KS energy all the way! I think if you have a KS energy battery predicting the outcome was easy. Though I thought the eco tree lithium would be better considering how much hype is round it…..

Could you explain the max amp discharge and how you explain how you would pair with a certain size invertor. I have 3000 watt inverter and agm batteries but going forward will look to invest in lithium. But im not understanding what you mean on the max size of inverter. Please excuse my ignorance but would be very useful to understand when considering which batteries to look at

Amps output multiplied by voltage equals max watts. So 100 amps at 12volt equals 1200watts. Although inverters are not 100% efficient so don't expect a 1200 watt inverter to run at max with a 100 amp output battery. Likewise a 250 amp max discharge would mean. 250amp X 12volt = 3000 watts.

A question for you if we have a 400amp cheapo from China that has a 100amp BMS could we remove the BMS and put a better say 250amp BMS in it just a thought

You should build your own I done my own £350 for 4 200amp cells £120 daly bms with bluetooth and I fitted £20 heat pads and a £7.50 temperature control module so heats battery at low temperature never had a problem charging by the way just because the battery says it has low temperature protection doesn't mean there is one fitted check out will prowse has a lot of videos taken batteries apart to check inside

Will Prowse is a fantastic resource, he gets far too excited when he finds a properly installed low temp sensor, although, given how many are not installed properly, I suppose it’s understandable
