Banchan is Korean side dishes. The flower shaped cookies in that vegan cafe are called yakgwa - so yummy and hearty!

@@marianaklober8182 You're welcome. Most banchan are vegetarian, but not all are vegan. It depends what the flavouring agents are. For example there is a soybean sprout banchan I make that contains fish sauce. There are fish sauce substitutes at the Korean market these days. So if you are making them yourself you can make many vegan, but if you are eating them at a Korean restaurant it is hard to know which are vegan unless you are well versed in Korean food. There are some Korean cooking youtube channels with vegan recipes. Hope this helps.

Ah! thank you! I found your Osaka Vegan recc video and watched that and was so glad to see this recommended to me as welL! Next month I am heading to South Korea and Japan for about a month and have yet to figure out what to eat so I will be saving all these videos and trying to check these places out! Vegan Kitchen is really good! I got the veggie dumplings and the cutlet with curry. They have tablets to order on with English as a language setting and a robot delivers the food lol
