Would be cool if you recorded a video of you just walking around these amazing places. Not everyone will get the opportunity to travel to South Korea. Another idea is maybe if you have any wacky/cute cafes in Korea like with pets or anything?

Dried radish imparts a unique vegetal sweetnes (different from sugar or glucose syrups) that adds wonderful depth to tteokbokki sauce. I’ve never considered its textural contribution to the dish.. your take on the dish inspires me to appreciate it in the future!

Hi Anna, Everything looks so good. My favorite is the fried squid and the Japchae, glass noodles. The fried squid in the states is called cuddle fish. In the Korean mart, there’s a banchan area where they cook it and it’s still hot. Sikhye is sold in cans like soda in the Korean mart and it’s call dansool, sweet beer. Wow, you are so famous, everyone knows you.

Hi Anna. I found your videos recently on KZbin and have been watching your content over the past few weeks. This is my first comment on your video but thank you ever so much for including the English and Korean subtitles for your videos. It has certainly helped improve my Korean vocabulary and sentence construction and is hugely helpful! Your recent videos are making me feel more excited for my relocation to Korea with family and I can't wait to try out all kinds of food, particularly 육회 (beef tartare) and 광어회 (flat fish? not sure!). Anyhow thanks again for your content and sharing the many delights of South Korea. 😊

Evertime people ask me what I did not get to do but was on my list. I say this market. Most of the things on my list were food related😅. Uri Jin Wu’s list was long, so I ate a lot of kids type foods. But If you ever make your way to Amsterdam, beef tartare is a Dutch favorite, not very well known.

This needs an update. Currently here and myeong dong market way cheaper and Gwangjong market is pricier and more tourist. Bought hotteok at both and Myeongdong was 1500 won gwangjong was 4500 won.

Thank you for this video! So, I went to this market during my trip in March (with my husband) and was really overwhelmed by the crowds - it was at least 2 or 3x more than what I'm seeing in this video ._. I probably can't even tolerate mildly crowded places. It was so off-putting that I decided to just leave with only the nude kimbap in my stomach! And I left not understanding what the hype was because the madness in crowds really made it seem like it was just another tourist trap :( I'll be heading to Korea again this October as a solo traveler and I hope I can brave thru the crowds again now that you've given me some really good ideas what to eat there!

I like sushi and sashimi, so I know that it largely depends on the quality, but I'm still working on the idea that I could conceivably eat a plate of uncooked egg and beef and not die/get food poisoning. I guess like with sushi, you just have to find a place that knows what they're doing. So, if I go to Korea, I will be brave and try yukhoe (sp?). I always make a point to try the local cuisine anywhere I go. It's part of the experience 🙂

Since you really help people by showing where to go it would be great if you could do a video on what to bring if you travel to Korea for the first time! I plan on coming next year mostly because of how well you’ve presented the country to us! As well.. do you ever plan on visiting the UK again?

I once stumbled upon a popular Canadian KZbinr in Bangkok, Thailand with 100k subs making a video. He was very dismissive and rude. I later watched his video and saw he had included in his video subscribers that he had bumped into and chatted with but not me. I immediately unsubscribed. I really admire the way you interact with your subscribers and treat them with respect. I hope I bump into you one day and can take a selfie with you. From a 32 yr old guy from England who is working in Thailand.
