Dear people of KZbin that don't know much about how the roller coaster industry works - This is not a "copy" of another ride, nor did they "rip off" a certain ride. Many parks buy their rides from a ride manufacturer that both designs and builds roller coasters. In this example, the generic ride name is called a "Boomerang" made by the company "Vekoma." The first one opened in 1984 and they are still being built today. There are about 50 of these all over the world. If you are interested in buying one, you can check out this page: www.vekoma.com/index.php/experience-thrill-coasters/boomerang-coaster Any further comments about how this ride "ripped off" or "copied" another ride will be deleted. I hope you've learned something today! =)

Yea but i dont see your point.. speed of sound in walibi holland is a boomerang coaster made by vakoma.. so why isnt it better? It has onboard music and a lot of other special effects en decorations..
@themeparkreview9 жыл бұрын
Regenboog Snoep No one is saying it is or isn't better. This video wasn't meant to start a "Boomerang competition." It was just a video of a single Boomerang, nothing more. I'm sure there might be better ones and I'm sure there might be worse ones. But just because something has music and an effects doesn't always make it better.
@spaceoorulu86639 жыл бұрын
To the people in the comments that think they're saying Lake Compounce's Zoomerang is the best Boomerang ever, TPR isn't saying that, they're saying that this is the best footage they've ever taken on a Vekoma Boomerang coaster. Hence the title: BEST Vekoma Boomerang Roller Coaster POV FOOTAGE EVER. There's no war between which Coaster is better, it's just stating that this is one of the best videos they've taken. It's not that hard to comprehend really...

Mr Doom Please READ the title of the video! It says "Best Vekoma Boomerang VIDEO... VIDEO!!!!!" We aren't saying this is the "Best Boomerang!" I'm sorry I underestimated the reading comprehension ability of our subscribers.

+Theme Park Review Some people say you're a jerk, but I understand how in this situation how annoying people can be. Many people who watch these know nothing about these coasters and they just only know about their hometown park. I've seen a lot of people commenting saying every inverted b and m is a copy of Montu, and that is the furthest from the truth. I know how you feel.
@ElementerChannel9 жыл бұрын
Boomerangs may be rough, but they are a pretty good idea and are fun(when smooth). I rode Stinger at Dorney, which is an inverted boomerang and it was pretty smooth and enjoyable. Even had theme music in the station.

Yeah boomerangs can be fun, if they’re smooth. I’ve recently ridden Speed Of Sound at Walibi Holland and that vest restraints actually made it smooth and enjoyable. I also rlly like the decoration and on board music on the ride

Well, I want to say that I think this is the Best Vekoma Boomerang Roller Coaster POV Footage EVER. Having worked in the amusement park industry when I was younger and controlled the roller coasters, having videos like this (the underworks of how a ride works) I really appreciate it. It truly fascinates me how these things are built, how they work and how much fun they are to ride.
@bethanynurzia33869 жыл бұрын
Ahh, what a beauty. This was my first flip ride, this one at Lake Compounce. My friends and I went on it for camp, and we were ALL scared to death. Haha, good times. Zoomerang made me love roller coasters, and it was my first flipping ride, so it'll have a special place in my heart. Lol
@gallimead9 жыл бұрын
Love these boomerangs. I used to ride, one of the first Verkomas, in the late 80's. it was in Pwllheli north Wales, at Butlins. No brakes on second climb, or emergency escape on the inversion. Sadly, the place closed, but the coaster was bought by Blue Bayou in Louisiana.

Boomerangs are kinda underrated in my opinion.

You must've not been on a lot. Your probably fortunate to have been on the rare "smoothish" ones. The ones I've been on have been incredibly rough, especially the one located at Worlds of Fun! :P
@adamadamiscool9 жыл бұрын
Vreffinity EDM Trust me, you don't know real roughness until you've been on Furious Baco during the afternoon.
@luminade93299 жыл бұрын
+tabularmite I literally rode Furius Baco three days ago, my last ride of the day at that. Maybe it was just where I was sitting (outer seat, last car on the left), but I really don't think it's as bad as many people make it out to be. Sure enough, it was shaky, but no more than that of Dragon Khan, which, most likely gave me more brain damage than what I already have, and that's a B&M at that.

@superbobthe3rd9 жыл бұрын
You've made Zoomerang look like it's smooth to ride on. To tell you the truth, it's actually incredibly painful going backwards because the headrests are not adjusted properly, so your head bounces back and forth very rapidly. It was interesting to see Zoomerang's operations and mechanics. Since it's my local theme park it's pretty awesome to see how they make it.
@dgproductions46869 жыл бұрын
True story. The guys running the TPR forums are too positive for opinions.
@ryanr28856 жыл бұрын
I honestly never have understood why these rides are so hated. They are unique in that they go both forwards and backwards, and they aren’t painful or rough. Then again, the only one I’ve ridden is the one at Darien Lake, which many people say is one of the smoother ones, but I honestly have enjoyed my experiences with the Vekoma Boomerang. But the SLC on the other hand...
@tenyobe9 жыл бұрын
Very interesting to see how it really 'works' - the guy that came up with this simple yet original idea was a genius. Back in the days when Boomerangs weren't so common the ride was impressive, and it more or less still is of course: small footprint but it has a real 'punch' to it. The only thing that I can think of missing is an airtime hill, but who knows one day we'll see that too in these rides. Many thanks you for the upload!

You have to try a boomerang coaster. I mean, I agree with other people saying its rough but its fun! Very interesting video, Robb! I learned some things from the unique POVs, such as that the chain on the reverse spike actually drops down a couple inches to let the train start rolling backwards. I always assumed the chain simply disengaged from its drive and "rolled" back with the train. I guess you could call me a "lift hill enthusiast" lol.

A little history on this boomerang originally purchased and built for the 1988 World Exposition in Brisbane Queensland Australia named TITAN after expo 88 finished it was sold to an Australian park called Australia's wonderland Sydney and operated as the DEMON from 1992-2003 till the closure of the park. It was then sold to this park in America and renamed the ZOOMERANG
