Going back a few decades (like I;m in my late 60s now), every example of a prusik loop places the knot parallel to the taught line & that knot is always 2 double overhand knots around each of the the opposing ends, so that the two knots lock against each other to make a double fisherman knot. The loop itself is free from any kind of knot so that each leg of the loop share the load equally. However youtuber's these days are just showing this knot incorrectly by placing the knot within the tensioned loop where it might interfere with loading. The originally prusik placed the knot behind the prusik turns and parallel to the taught line because the tension on the actual knot is lowest in that position & it doesn't interfere with equalizing the tension loading between the 2 legs of the loop .
