a7s iv... crop with 4k60? this is your fave cam? why does that seem so weird to me.
@getfmlr2 жыл бұрын
Studio shooter so getting multiple focal lengths from one camera can be beneficial. Every lens gets double usage. That's always been standard in the apsc market when using dummy vs speedbooster. So even in full frame , a crop can be useful.

this 2022 was packed for me too, got new cameras, GH6 and FX30, I absolutely love them ! Hollyland reached out with the Mars M1 monitor and Mars 4k transmitters and It changed my workflow by a lot ! got rid of some gear I don't use anymore or don't need in general, its been awesome honestly ! looking forward to 2023 and what's to come ! I would say lenses is what excites me the most 😬

Also been loving the fx30! Bought the Sony 16-55mm lens for it and it's been my go to lens, the flexibility and sharpness is insane! Also got the 11mm 1.8 and it's the best wide lens imo it's been clutch for a lot of my projects! Can't wait to see you make more content with it! Hoping you make a rig video on it from light weight bare essentials to full on cinema gear ft. Ulanzi so it's easy to strip and build. All the love!

Another great video as always, Caleb, and once again your channel is costing me money :) You're teleprompter as monitor video was a huge productivity boom for me, just as all my in-person presentations were becoming zoom meeting and webinars. I bought the Glide teleprompter you recommended and the A8 monitor right away. But my old eyes were struggling to read text on the A8, so I upgraded to the A11 which was the biggest monitor I could fit in that Teleprompter. So when I saw this video with the bigger 16"ILOKNZI Teleprompter and the A12, I decided that my two years older eyes deserved the upgrade and jumped on them. The challenge is that I actually route one of the outputs of my Atem Mini Extreme to the prompter/monitor, so that I can use the switcher to send my camera output or my computer output to the teleprompter. So the computer (M1 Macbook) is sending a 1080P signal to the switcher which is sending a 1080P signal to the A1 monitor which is upscaling it to 4K, and unfortunately the upscale in that Lilliput monitor is not very good. So for now, I'm using an outboard scaler, while I look for a 14" monitor that fits in the ILOKNZI, has native 1080p, and supports the X-Axis image flip that the Teleprompter needs. It's not proving as easy to find as I had hoped.

Yesss. Please make videos about 3D printed film gear. I can't tell you how much money I've saved by buying a single 3D printer last year. Also, how incredibly customized gear can be for your particular needs. Pro Tip: It's likely that your public library has a 3D printer that can print smaller (PLA-based) parts for you for less than a dollar. There are hundreds of thousands of free designs online.

An idea for inventing: do you think you could 3-d print a thing that’s like a professional outdoor slingshot but that holds a camera where the yoke part would be? So like you can shoot handheld but with the wrist part making it super stable and less fatiguing. Like basically a manfrotto pixi in stick mode but with more support strapped to your arm to help you out. Seemed like it would be a good item but not even sure if that would work. Anyway great videos as always

I've been trying to help my dad with his. He only wants to use it to record audio podcasts with 2 people (no video). He doesn't want to mess with 2 tracks. He just wants to be able to plug in one transmitter to his computer and retrieve a good recording of both people. So I put it in merged mode and set both receivers to backup. I did some tests but for some reason, even tho the levels on the receiver are being picked up for each mic on either side of the room, only one mic seems to be recording any sound. The backup tracks on both receivers are the same exact recording as I expected but only one mic was picking up anything. I tried to get him to just record in split and stack the tracks but he seems pretty convinced that if the device doesn't do everything for him he's better of just returning it and quitting lol. Any tips?

Hey Pike. Thank you for the video . I own an A7iii and Sigma 35 1.4 used on MC11 . I was keen on doing video in the camera by buying some lenses for the full frame , however, the autofocus sound from the lens and the lack of 4k 60p is thinking me to upgrade.Should i be upgrading to A7iv or would it be a wise choice to go for FX30 considering its price point ? I am a hobbyist shooting videos of my kid, documentaries and travel films.

Read the title of the video again...its gear he's purchased in 2022. Not saying he doesn't use the others or that these are better than last year's purchases. As mentioned he's a studio shooter...so really any modern mirrorless will do for his needs. Everyone has different needs. For some they don't own a a7s3 or s5. And nor do they need it. So these are good options for them.
