I am a Vitamix fanatic, I own 4 and I have every container, the container is one of the most important aspects of the experience. The best container for just about everything is the 48oz Stainless Steel container, this is without question. I have been using these machines for decades and I think most people would agree on the 48oz Stainless Steel being a “throwback game changer” my vintage 1970s 3600 had Stainless. The modern 48oz Stainless Steel container is a best of all worlds sized container that enhances hot and cold temperatures and also provides exceptional ease of cleaning and always looks nice. No matter which machine you get I highly recommend having this container. Next to consider is presets, I actually love them, when you are new to Vitamix they are like getting a lesson from a teacher or even better you can skip class all together and walk away and still ace the test. I often make my soups using the soup preset on my Professional Series or Ascent Series machines. So next up for consideration may be sound, and my Ascent 3500 is the quietest Vitamix I own. There is also the new X series machines and these are also very quiet but do note they dropped bluetooth which is needed for connectivity with the Vitamix App and Vitamix Scale (discontinued but on Ebay), my Ascent 3500 get lots of use with the scale and app but I know a lot of people just don't get into that stuff and a Vitamix X5 would be my recommendation in that case. If you are on a budget at least consider getting a Professional 750 on sale or reconditioned. Also the Professional 750 is good if you already have legacy containers that you wish to use (no self detection chip) as self detection containers are required on any Ascent series. If you can only afford the most inexpensive models and are getting something like a 5200, Propel, or Explorian, you are still getting a better blender than any other brand. With the least expensive models you lose some of the bells and whistles but still have the same great motor and many optional containers for special tasks. Check out the AER container for some wonderful aeration functions.

I like versatility but I am mainly looking to blend smoothies and milkshakes. Currently, I have both the pro series 750 and the 5200. The 750 is brand new in the box. I have now used the 5200 about 4 times now and like it overall. My question for you is which do you recommend that i keep bc one will have to be returned. I supposed i could do some side by side comparisons myself, but i figured I'd ask you since you have experience with different vitamixes. Thanks

I use one at work and I wanna get one for home but my worry is it gets warm and lots of reviews say the same thing it heats up food in the cup, can be a good thing but I would use it for everything but I mostly use mine for milkshakes at home and didn’t know if It would work? If I made a purchase and it’s a bad idea to use if for ice cream or it melts the ice cream then I’m gonna have 2 blenders one just for milk shake and I don’t want to have.?

I saw the 750 at Costco. Didn’t like the plastic base of it. It looks cheap and fragile.

@@EE-zf1lwI bought a 5300 series vitamix blender that was a Costco exclusive back in 2016. I’m still rocking it till this day. I bought it when I was 25 and I’m 32 years old and I’m still using that same blender and I’m loving it.

@@rileylehoe2232 You won't have to blend long enough for it to heat a milk shake. It will make a milk shake in seconds. It gets hot if you run it for minutes, which is how you make soup with it.

Does the 64oz tall container be used with the Pro 750?

Yes. I have the Pro 750. It came with the lower, wider container, but I also bought a tall, narrow container (64 ounces.) Works perfectly on the 750. I checked with Vitamix before buying it and they said it is OK to use on the 750.

Be sure that you are increasing your speed all the way to the highest speed, especially when blending thick ingredients like nut butters. There is a cooling fan in the motor base that moves at the same speed as the motor. So if you're running it on a low speed, the fan is not going as fast and the motor will shut down to prevent the overheating from damaging the motor. If you run it at the highest speed, the fan is working at an optimum level to keep it cool and you can run it for a long time that way. It also will provide better results of smoother textures and you'll be done faster. Using your tamper to push the ingredients down into the blade also helps with getting better results.

I ended up getting a 5200 vitamix during Amazon prime day for $300! It was between that and a few other models and the $300 is really what put it over. I've used it almost daily making whole food juice for my wife and I.

Get the little arm thingy to help you clean the bottom of the blades because they can get gross if you are cleaning it with soapy water and the cleaning cycle. I love my 750 and I have owned it a good 7-8 years, but I lust after the 4 ounce container on the Accent blender. Peeling a lemon is easier than zesting and you get a higher yield of zest. If I could use less liquid with my peel I could make zest for things like my lemon bread recipe (a lot like cinnamon rolls) or make small amounts of salad dressing etc. I gave my daughter the Accent (actually both my daughters) but the mover stole my youngest blender, so I am thinking of giving her my 750 and buying the Accent. I am just afraid I will regret it.

@pippadawg7037 I rinse immediately after using and then run the cleaning cycle and wash it out, and the container looks very clean to me. I haven't noticed anything under the blades and have been using it a couple times a week since October. I'll definitely keep an eye out though.

@@Cee_Nelly The container isn't the problem, just the underside of the blades, that you can't see well at all. Vitamix even sell a little stick to help clean under the blades. It can happen trust me, especially you put anything sticky (like nut butters) in your smoothies. And if you are making vegan dishes with cashew creams and stuff -forget about it. Those blades will get gross on the bottom fast blending nuts. The worst thing is to see gross stuff under the blades and realize you have been mixing things with it.

@@smokinjoe006 LOL. Trust me I was doing the same thing when the older version was on sale against the propel. I ended up just getting another breville boss blender since I'm used to it. I guess whenever that goes I may try a vitamix. It may blend smoother than the breville for smoothies

@RonnRicco it's very strange to me lol. Currently the propel series 750 is on sale for $529 while the professional series 750 is $699 on the vitamix website. Then on Amazon, the 750 professional is on sale for $489 while the propel 750 is priced at $529. But again, they look and seem identical lol.
