One more tip to think about is when making smoothies. Start on low then ramp to high until fully blended and then FINISH ON LOW to remove all the excess air. High speed blending can inject a surprising amount of volume and air into your smoothie which when consumed will often cause unnecessary gas and bloating if not removed by finishing on low setting.

Another tip when making smoothies or anything you want to keep cold is to invest in the stainless steel jar. It is a game changer as they say. I love it so much I have purchased 3 of them one for myself and one for each of my daughters. It is beautiful and it feels cleaner and it keeps cold ingredients colder.

Love my Vitamix. I bought it 4.5 years ago and have been making two smoothies a day in it since I purchased it. The smoothies consist of 15 ingredients and are thick as cement. These things are like Timex’s watches, they take a licking and keep of ticking. I have never had a kitchen appliance that is so durable and basically indestructible.

I used to grind wheat berries for my waffle recipe in my Vitamix. One thing I found out the hard way is that some very hard particles survive the processing,and can be quite unpleasant to bite into. I started sifting the flour after grinding it,which fixed the problem.

I've had the containers (2) for my Vitamix 7500 since 2013. They're still nice and clear. I throw in lemon peels with a drop of dishwashing liquid into the wash cycle after making a smoothie. The acid in the peels cuts any calcium deposits. Or... about once a week, I'll let the container soak with 1 *Finish* brand dishwasher tablet (the one with the red ball in the center) overnight to keep the hard water and mineral spots from discoloring the jar.

I’ve had Vitamix for almost 8 years now and it’s a wonderful machine. Unfortunately, I used it faithfully for the first year, then life happened and I’ve rarely used it since. But, with videos like this, I can easily get more interested. I have the dry mix container and if I can pulverize graham crackers in it for a crust,there’s hundreds of uses, I could use it for. I also have that handy little scraper she used, to get under the blades. I’ve made almond butter too, but just used the wet container with the almonds and added a little bit of oil to get the ground almonds to emulsify. But, it was really hard getting that junk out of the container, since the bottom lid doesn’t come off. But, I’ve used it to make butternut squash soup and it does an awesome job. Let it run for about 6 mins and you really do get hot piping soup! The Vitamix motors are extremely powerful and heat up to get that soup hot and ready to eat. I’ve never put it in a cabinet, so I’m more intended to use it feel guilty not using it! It’s too expensive and useful, not to use..

Cleaning foggy containers - I use a plain magic eraser and gently scrub the inside in a circular motion, making sure you don’t hit a blade (ouch!). After each use, thoroughly dry the container with a soft cloth - I use a microfiber cloth because it’s so absorbent. You can even clean older containers the same way. It doesn’t make them absolutely like new, but the difference is amazing. Drying them after each use is key.
@mayraheart88783 жыл бұрын
Let it sit in direct sunlight too(dry so your blades don’t rust) that cleared mine up after my husband stained mine with beets and turmeric. Men 🙄
@koalasez12003 жыл бұрын
Thanks; I let them air dry (lid off) after drying the inside and I do catch the blades w/a microfiber cloth. No rust after lots of years, but I also live in a dry climate which helps.

Denture/retainer cleaner I make basic fruit/yogurt smoothies frequently had residue accumulating on the blades and bottom corners of my blender. After dropping in a couple of denture/retainer cleaners with a cup of water and leaving them to sit for 30 min, I could finally scrub it off more easily.

To help get the last bits of food out of the container, scrape as much as possible with the spatula. Then, place the container back onto the machine and turn it on for a couple of seconds. Much of the food that was stuck on the blades will now be on the sides of the container ready to be scraped out.

I bought a one-quart bowl for mine and don't often use the 2-quart that came with it. However, the larger one is really handy during canning season and even more so for tomato juice and sauce. I quarter the fruit and then run it through my VM - it's so much easier than blanching to peel tomatoes (and saving the heat) and the food mill. For grape juice, I put the grapes in it; the way I keep the seeds which have many health benefits - I also freeze the juice in 8-oz. freezer jars for fresh juice all winter. I truly love my VitaMix for so many reasons.

I have an Instant Pot and use it to pressure cook the bones (and extra water of course) for broth. I use high pressure for an hour. I then remove whatever meat there is left to use and pour the rest through a strainer. The "leavings" (bones, veggies, etc.) what would normally be thrown away are very soft now. Those all go in my VitaMix with plenty of water. That "soup" I then feed to my hens; there calcium in the bones is very good for them. You could also mix it with dog food. Liquifying the bone broth "leftovers" and feeding it to them means nothing is wasted.

Hey, someone read the instructions! Nice presentation! Very disappointed that the 32-oz. container was dropped for the Ascent Series (I also have a 3500), which I bought on the understanding that smaller all-purpose containers were in the works. I was very unpleasantly surprised when I learned that I had a choice of one: the 48-oz. I resent having had to buy it--it's overkill for small amounts.

Nice. Always wondered what the difference was. I have both, but never knew how to use the dry container. 👍🏽👍🏽
