Just back from there last Wednesday. Went from having breakfast on the beach to shoveling snow in 15 degree weather, literally in one day. I'm from South Dakota. Already looking forward to coming back. The staff in Platinum were so good to us.

Great video. I had been there Dec 2018 and looking to go back this summer. Was the weather still comfortable as I nv been in August. How much is the taxi to the downtown of Playa Del Carmen? How's the booking for the a la carte restrictions? Lastly how is the seaweed situation, are the beaches good now?

Hey Cindy thank you so much for watching! The weather was really nice when we went on the last few days a storm came over but passed soon enough we came back with a good tan let’s just say that😉😂 It’s really easy if you just keep the website ready book your al a carte restaurants a few days in advance! The seaweed was still everywhere when we went, however if you just walk down the beach then to the left you’ll find picture perfect beaches with no one around! Hope you guys have the best time!

How strict is the dress code st the resort restaurants? And how the beach is there a lot of rocks? Should we pack swim shoes?

They weren’t strict at all! We wore shorts and T-shirts every night to all of the restaurants including the al a carte ones! However a lot of people were dressed up so we would probably take a few more outfits with us next time😂 definitely pack swim shoes the beach when you’re walking is absolutely fine but when you get into the ocean the sea bed is quite rocky. Don’t forget to walk about a mile left from the hotel beach for an even better beach! 🏝

so we booked the grand riviera princess and it says there both on the same property as the sunset so im assuming both the same access to everything thats on the property ? is that correct?

Yeah that’s right! The hotels are joined next to each other you can walk from one to the other in 10 minutes without leaving the hotel!

Is there a disco/nightclub there?

Hey! There isn’t a nightclub however there was music played every night in the centre of the hotel, with acts for the first few hours then they play music until late. This is where most people would sit or dance! It’s great fun though!

It’s a beautiful resort but what killed it for us was that we were constantly asked to be in pictures by the staff and it was really annoying. I don’t hear anyone else saying that has happened to them there so I don’t know why we had that experience

Yeah it’s a gay friendly hotel, staff are all great and really helpful! It was a mix of ages from young adults to older people!! We made friends for life there so I’m sure you’ll have a great time!😀
