Regarding backtesting. this is something every one needs to do by himself in order to to have the practice and the data we are going to tabulate in our graph. This includes your ability to handle the 5 minutes and 15 minutes chart. SO you need to do the most backtesting you can until you feel comfortable with the results of your observation,

This is awesome content thank you very much :) I made my own VWAP strategy that also uses a VWAP oscilator, specially selected stocks( high volume and 3.5 to 4.5 ATR between $60-$120) and a VWAP standard deviation tool sort of like bb. Does not use moving average but does require the correlating index to be supportive of the trade direction . Works really well for me but definitely requires patience and one must only take the trades that have a proper buy or short signal . That's my first strategy that I made from scratch and I really really like it for day trading ( 60% BA... so far at least ) .

I noticed that during the video you say that the VWAP indicator is essentially a kind of 20 period moving average. One of the earlier commentators below has responded that the period of the indicator should be left as "default". On my platform, Trading212, the default is set to 14 periods. Plotting both I notice that there is not a great deal of difference between them but I was wondering if you would have a preference as to the period. Would I be correct in saying that 14 might be better on the 1 min chart and 20 periods perhaps better on the 10, 15 min chart?

@@investathon8617 Well. In theory by looking at the charts it was working. But I missed every entry because I was scrolling through too many stocks. My plan was to enter at a MACD crossover below the histogram using VWAP and 200 EMA as support/resistance lines preferably in an uptrend. But I missed those optimal entries. I'll try again Wednesday but next time I'll pick 2 stocks and stare at them until I can catch an entry where all my conditions are met. I do swing trading as well. Same concept but you focus on the day chart instead. And yes VWAP won't show but you could find some other indicator. Maybe Bollinger lines. Some stocks might be easier to follow on the 4 hr instead. Catching a good entry this way is much easier since you have much more time to plan. But it also takes time for you to find trades and exit them. Days to weeks. When you're looking at these charts look at the history for potential areas of resistance. Don't rely on the lines. I did make 400 profit today but just by scalping a volatile low cap stock. High risk/high reward there. Exactly what I'm trying to avoid since overall I'm down quite a bit of my own money but I took it today.

UGAZ is a 3x ETF, I wouldn't take signals from it but from whatever its supposed to represent. Also since its commodity based I would keep my eyes on news regarding the underlying commodity (nat gas). It will follow news more then patterns if big enough news effects it.

Ohh yeah... On some charting platform, it will come with 3 lines.. Just remove top and bottom one and use middle one.

Those extra lines might be the SD ( standard deviation) plots. Just check the settings of the VWAP on your platform & if you find any SD 'ON ' by default then turn it off. Hope it helps
