It’s the 28th December 2023. A beautiful sunny morning, the temperature is 13 degrees Celsius.
This morning’s walk is all about the beautiful world of Alhambra Palace in Granada, Andalusia.

Allow your senses to indulge in this magnificent fortress. As we enter into the Palace we quickly realise, we have entered into a different world that lives behind the palace walls.
Magnificent picturesque scenes as far as the eye can see are before us. Our minds mesmerised by feelings of tranquility and contemplation. A delight for our eyes.
Manicured gardens, tall deep green Cupressus trees, stand tall as gorgeous architectural features .
Boxed hedges and trailing plants give life to uninteresting spaces. Everything here seems so perfect and well thought of.
Gardens of tranquility.
As we walk, you’ll see views of medicinal and vegetable plants. Ivy, laurel, sage, lavender and rosemary, planted for their healing properties in the palace.
I must confess the fruit trees of the pomegranate and oranges stand out to be the most beautiful of all.
They add to the heavenly picturesque atmosphere a delightful fragrance in the air.
We end our walk at the court of the lions. The absolutely stunning architecture leaves us somewhat speechless as we try to fathom what life must have been like within these magnificent walls.
I hope you enjoyed this late December winter walk at The Alhambra Palace. It’s an enormous Palace and I would have to return to see more of it!
I hope we can experience this walk again in the summer! Just imagine. I’m sure it would be absolutely beautifully enchanting to see all the flowers at full bloom in the warmth of the sunshine.
