Thank you SO MUCH for your channel! I have already booked an extensive trip to Spain and Portugal this year, so I know which cities I'm staying in and I'm getting around by train, but I still need to work out what I'm doing (including day trips). Your videos are so clear and helpful. I was trying to puzzle my way through all of the information about different Alhambra tickets and how a visit works, and this particular video made things much clearer (and you included the places included in the "Dobla de Oro General" ticket as well). I now have much more confidence in how to spend my time in Granada (4 nights, phew!) and look forward to seeing more about other cities that I'm visiting.

Hello Tony, we took your advise and are going to spend 3 nights and two full days in Granada (March 2024). We will arrive on Friday and depart on Monday morning to Barcelona . The question is wether the weekend is too busy and /or too many places are closed on Sunday , in which case , should we add another day to spend in Granada . At present we have 8 days in Malaga and can definitely change that. Thank you very much for your wonderful, educational and informative videos. Bobby

Hi Bobby. Most tourist attractions should open on Sunday but you could play it safe and book your visit to the Alhambra on that day. 8 days in Málaga sound like an awful lot so it might be wise to transfer another night to Granada. In our opinion, Granada has more content than Málaga. All the best!

Hi Tony, thanks for the video, loads of good tips & advise. I have two quick questions; 1) what is the different between the Alhambra General and the Dobla De Oro General? We planned a full day and would like to cover all including the Nasrid and Alcazaba, understand tha Nasrid time of visit must be specified. 2) is the ticket good for one day or multiple days? can we come back to say Alcazaba or Generalife on the next day using the same ticket? Appreciate your reply.
@ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal Жыл бұрын
Hello there! Your questions: 1) The Dobla de Oro General includes entry to Alhambra and access to a series of monuments in the Albaicín neighborhood. You will only be able to visit if you dedicate enough time to Granada - we recommend a minimum of three nights in the city. 2) the ticket of the Alhambra is valid for just the date stated on it. Hola Tony! I wanted to ask why you feel the Nasrid Palace portion of visiting the Alhambra should be left toward the end of the day? Would this be for all times of the year, including summer visits? Would it be busier to visit in the early morning from tour groups? I am trying to narrow down a ticket time and some people say early morning visit is better but others (like yourself) say crowds die down as the day goes on later, so would love your opinion on this. Mil gracias como siempre! ❤
@ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal9 ай бұрын
Hello again. Our advice to leave the visit to the Nasrid Palaces at the end of the visit is not due to the amount of visitors or the light conditions but to the fact that they are the most extraordinary part of the complex. Better to leave the best for the end.

SCAM ALERT! I am going to be visiting granada in two weeks. I purchased tickets for the Alhambra from a link that says Official and the website looks extremely professional with no indication that it is a different company. I purchased the tickets for 85$ each and now that I see the real website I am really frustrated that I was 140$ extra. I am usually really good at spotting these things! That is so much money. Now the time slots on the official page are all booked up so if I could even get a refund I would miss out on seeing the Alhambra. The tick site was through My top tours and I didn't know that until I recieved the email confirmation. I hope the tickets are at least real and I get to see the site.

Really sorry you felt for a scam that is becoming more common every day. We published a video on exactly the same scam but applied to the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pqanaH-Bic6joqM Hope your tickets will be legit, in the case of resellers of Alhambra tickets, there is the additional risk of the tickets not being accepted at the entrance. All tickets must have the name of the person who purchased them written on them.

@@ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal I saw your video about Sagrada Familia and my ticket they are ok. I am usually really cautious as I have traveled quite a bit. I just could not believe how authentic this website looked! I contacted the Alhambra and they let me know the tour company does sell real tickets. I have also written to the tour company and they are making sure I have tickets set aside. I have learned! Your videos are so informative and I cannot wait to visit your beautiful country!

the night visit doesnt worth it?? what are you saying man?? it is really worth ...especially in summer... it is strongly recomended... a granadian dixit...

In our opinion, and that of some our art specialist colleagues (who initially cautioned us against the nocturnal sojourn), in its current disposition, the night visit epitomizes an absolute squandering of resources, featuring a lighting project devoid of merit and an array of constraints that transmute the visitation into a suboptimal odyssey. There exist myriad genuinely splendid nocturnal excursions to architectural marvels in Spain; however, the Alhambra does not lay claim to such distinction.

Obviously you have been missinformed... totally wrong judgement... in the old times of the moors used bonfires to iluminate the palaces... the sightings are out of this world... obviously who ever adviced you do not know what theyvprevent you to experienced... but?? you are free to miss the wonders of our Alhambra... your loss... next time ask someone who knows what is talking about... of course, always in my opinion... as a native of the city of Granada... cheers... you are welcome

The Alhambra is overrated and underwhelming, not worth your time! Stupid demands of seeing your passports Upon ticket purchases and exit! Food in the cafes in the compound is atrocious!

Oh no.. not a passport request….The horror.

I agree it's over-rated. We visited it today. I much prefer Topkapi Palace in Istanbul.
