You can do it!! As long as you have a good straight edge...and hold it down firmly, the paper rips quite easily. I find it is easier to rip than to cut with scissors. Have fun!!

Just curious, is it more cost efficient to buy a large sheet of watercolor paper and cut it yourself or to buypre-cut sheets of watercolor paper?

Generally speaking, the large sheets are more cost effective. But sometimes you can find a sale which makes the blocks very affordable. You can just add up the square inches (or square centimeters), divided by the cost of each and compare. :-) I'm so nerdy....I have done that in the past.

Lol! I understand..... 😂🎉 I started buying full sheets of Arches and others in 1995 and it was only when Bahong and some others came out that I picked up other blocks. Before that, the one small Arches block I bought decades ago still had several gets to go!

I order my Baohong paper on Amazon. Here is the student grade: amzn.to/3GMghDo which is very affordable and good quality. You can also get the Artists grade which is even better - amzn.to/41uNjBD I like to buy it in big imperial sheets (30"x22")

I learned to never roll good watercolor paper. It takes pigment differently where it has cracks/crimps/bends.

This paper is rolled very loosely and when opened up it lays flat immediately, with no sign of damage. I've used it for years with no problems. I store it flat, once it arrives to me studio.
