I've made probably 20000 cuts wit a zip cut with no guard on it, until one day a disk exploded while cutting. It sounded like a gunshot and I was very lucky to not get hit. Ever since then I only use a zip cut with a guard on it. Gives me chills and a bit of ptsd watching that thing pointed at your neck. Odds are you and i could cut the rest of our life without a guard and nothing will happen but all it takes is one faulty disk. Great job on the cuts 👌

I have had a disc explode and pieces flew in all directions . I was hit on my leg and it didn't cut through my jeans but left a painful purple mark that hurt for months . Thank God no one was around! A guard and face shield should be used also. I was lucky.

Chad & Jolene, excellent work both of you! I give you a lot of credit Chad, I don't know if I could do something major like chopping the roof while the owner was standing there. It just shows the self-confidence that you have in your fabricating skills in my opinion. The car is looking really good so far and it will really look good when you are done with it. Jolene, great job on the camera as always, it is so nice to get good detailed close-ups on all the cuts so that we can see how Chad gets such nice clean cuts on the project.

Im a performing musician singer for many years. Chad reminds me of myself and brothers who all play out. He just knows what to do and can wing it (but not actually winging it), he knows what he's doing completely. You get that relaxed confidence where you can embrace the crowd and be yourself while delivering the goods. Love these guys, Chad & Jolene.

Except he never uses a guard. Even with the cutoff wheels and it makes me nervous. I've seen what a faulty disc can do to a person's face when they come apart at speed.

Chad always use a super heavy duty extension cord heavy gauge when your far away from the plug with a welder or any other big electric tool that pulls lots of amps that way you get full power to the welder . The heat will not be as hot or penetrate if you use a 100foot orange cord it’s no good you need a heavy cord you will keep tripping your switch service box

Personally I would mark the line in the back and cut it because then you are closer to the original lines for the doors and front windshield. Either way, the owner has a gigantic smile and that my fellow Hiltz family is exactly what you want.

Noticed a common theme in USA/Canada with the general public - there is a high percentage of seriously overweight people I would guess the fast junk food addiction and portion size is seriosuly out of control. I wonder if any even cook for themselves at all. Pretty sad really. That chop looks pretty straight forward and not easy having to do it in front of a live audience but Chad is taking in his stride

Chad you made that look easy, good planning, but if you got the centre posts to line up, the rear would be easy as you could cut the extra length off and the whole rear would have the correction required to line everything up perfectly, well thats how I see it, I wouldnt have to do any unnecessary cuts on the rear quarters.
