This is brilliant! I wish I had seen this yeeears ago when I had the original Loki/Thor cans from the first movie release...(They exploded in the Arizona heat when we moved houses...) but at least now I know for future cans! Can't wait to try it! Thank you!

I'm old school. All I need is a hammer and a Phillips head screwdriver. If you do it slowly enough you avoid the massive spray. I've done literally hundreds of cans this way over the years. A thorough rinsing is also a must.

Yeah I just pierce it with a really sharp can opener...it's all leverage. Plus you can still drink the product without wasting it because of the metal shavings.

Thank YOU. I have a collectible 2017 Vans Warped Tour Monster Energy Tour water. And my dad has been preserving it since I went on tour with my band- however it opened slightly last week and I’ve been looking for the best way to preserve the can

Konner Rhiannon I believe it can be done. But there is a good chance it could ruin the can if done wrong.

I saved two Coke cans from the movie (Jak and Zook), and they drained without opening. Unfortunately, my little nephew just got into them and opened them both 😤 I don't know if anything can be done to keep them now.

have you tried using compressed air in one of the holes to force the last of the liquid out? have you ever considered filling it with something afterwords to improve the weight or durability of the can, like some sort of expanding insulation foam or something?
@dougiesadventuresreviews21674 жыл бұрын
Mike Greiling that’s not a bad idea. Have drained hundreds of cans since making this video (shipped them from Europe to the US) and found that sitting them up at an angle to drain works rather well.
@BLOODY__FATALITY4 жыл бұрын
Oh yeah that's right. Compressed air cans can come with little tubes to poke into one of the holes.

All do respect , you scratched a lot when drill slipped away :(
@yohanabercrombie53973 жыл бұрын
If you have a carpenter's punch or a small Phillips screwdriver, you can create a starting guide that will keep the bit from slipping. Don't try to punch the hole. Just tap lightly with a small hammer or block of wood, so that the punch slightly dents the can. Start your drill bit in this dent, and no more bit walking around making scratches! I am a carpenter, so this is common practice for me in metal or wood.

I learned a few more tricks after making this video. A slight indentation really does help. Thank you Yohan for adding that comment.

Maybe move the tab to the side and drill the hole so you can move the tab back then the hole cannot be seen.

You should swing the pull tab around and poke a small hole with a nail where the centre part of the pull tab would line up then drain and swing the pull tab back round so you can’t see the hole 🕳 And to get rid of the rest of the juice when drained run hot water on the bottom of the can

I might be necro posting a little bit, but what the hell. I think this vid was actually in part intended to be an alternative to this method. for one this vid is 4 months after madnug's vid on draining cans using this method, but also note the line "I got on youtube to at all the cool ways to drain a can, everyone wants to use *screws and nails* [...] not very effective" I still think mad's method is valid (especially for pranks) but I *can* see a hybrid of both mad and doug's method being pretty effective
@dougiesadventuresreviews21672 жыл бұрын
I appreciate your feedback on the subject. I did try the under tab method and preferred the method I ended up on. Ended up draining nearly 500 cans this way, with no issues. Thank you again for your comment.

If I drill directly to the can will it get electric shock?
@dougiesadventuresreviews21674 жыл бұрын
That’s a fair question. This is why I used a piece of cardboard to block the excess amounts from hitting the drill. I later gave up on this idea and just let it get covered in soda while emptying nearly 500 cans. Never received any shock. As a disclaimer, it is possible, but not probable, you could be shocked.
