I go to abandoned systems w/abandoned space stations, then I use a Planetary Chart for (distress signals) on planets. No NPCs at all, every crashed ship you find is yours, mark coords as usual or store and scrap. Set up a marker at a Planetary portal and use portal glyphs to mark system. Or set up a base and personal portal, name base accordingly. Return to and claim ships using glyphs (or base portal) for that system. I'm on PC and this works for me on non multiplayer mode.(have yet to use multiplayer.) Playing since day 1 and almost 1920 hours. Not counting deleted games.

If you are new to the game, you can speed up the 8 days Quicksilver hunting with the anomaly mission. When you progress the Artemis line, you can feed Nada and Polo updates. Nada will give you 150 Quicksilver with some Nanites as well.

I set up my first base beside a crash site , turned out to be an amazing choice because every so often I spawn another crashed ship to sell! Gonna settle by crash sites for all my builds now.

I'm getting really sick of hunting for crashed ships and, instead, finding out that the damned Sentinels took them away. This is happening way too often in my playthrough.

I just travel in one direction and usually get three ships in an evening of play. But I prefer to mix it up and not just focus on ships.

What I do is claim every crashed ship I can, make the minimum fixes than take it to the space station and melt it, it will give me nanites and units, but most importantly storage augmentations for the ships I use.

Here’s what’ll probably happen: roughly a year or two after the release of the Series X and PS5, the game will stop being updated for the Xbone and PS4. It’ll likely be similar to how GTA5 is on the 360/PS3 and One/PS4, that game stopped receiving updates on the Xbox 360 years ago.

I'm about 70 hours in to this game and I've done a bunch of story missions and had fun. Now that my objective is to get a good ship, it feels more like a job than a game. I get that hunting rare things is fun but I feel NMS relies too much on random spawning. There's no skill in getting good ships, you just have to spend stupid amounts of time doing it.

I was exploring and randomly found a ship. It was an A class ship, is that good for now or should I aim for something better (I also need to repair it like crazy).

I repaired a B class hauler that I found early on. It took forever to find or purchase the resources needed. Within an hour of being done a S class shuttle with more slots landed and I had enough money from various other things to buy it outright. So unless you really like the ship it is probably not worth it.

If i eas to start the game again i would: Start digging up burtied technologies from the get go. They are easily the best sort of income early on, and habitat building can wait till one hast the means to store the ressorces somehwere (a.e. in a bigger ship). Tgen follow the mail questline. You will com across multiple crashed ships, for me most of them where A Tier 25Slot ships. They will all be wrecked to pieces and buying a new one is cheaper then reparing them. Then repair just the landing gear and the engine that lets ypu travel super fast (not the warp drive, just the fast travel thing). Fly it straight to the next hangar. There u gonna sell all those data chips for a huge payday. Then disassemble all the tech you can from your wrecked ship. take all the ressources out and then trade it in for another ship with one of the random landing pirates. Search for one with S tier self recharging la ding gears and at least 22 inventory slots. The wrecked ship itself shpuld beworth around 1.5mil (if its a mid tier one) and all those found data should cover any other cost difference for a fairly nice beginner ship. Dont worry aout letting behind your OG ship for the wrecked one. You will eventually get a carrier capital ship. Qll your claimed ships will eventually spawn in the hangar of that carrier. So always claim all crashed ships, even if u just let them stranded on the planet. The, make some decent money for the early midgame, when scrapping them.

You forgot to mention that you have to have unlocked all portal glyphs before you can get the living ship locations. Im currently stuck at the "go through the portal to get the soul" part of the original living ship quest because I have not completed the main story line. It was an unexpected and disappointing roadblock.

Can't find any drowned ships with the nautilon... what am i missing? i've summoned the nautilon, scanned - nothing. so i flew around a quater of the planet, popped nautilon, scanned - nothing... i'm sure that i have travelled around the whole planet this way because i used an ancient ruins site as "marker"^^ so whats the scan radius of the nautilon? has it been nerfed recently to match the range of the exosuit?

Warp to your base and summon the broken ship, then warp to a space station and scrap it there. No repair needed.

If you claimed it, land in your freighter and log out. Log back in and that ship should be inside your freighter.

Sometimes when I find a crashed ship and scrap it, I get inventory upgrade nodules, but other times I don't. Is there any pattern to this or is it random?

What the ship will give is dependant on the model and class. The slots and so cost will also determine what vendor trash drops with it. It's not really possible to fully predict what a model and class will drop without scrapping one though

They are special daily ones, unfortunately im not sure of a trigger to set them off, my permadeath save kinda just was able to do them almost right away :(

Just a quick question pls... once you've found a crashed ship and claimed it (for whatever purpose) will that location spawn new ships later ? Or is it that once you've claimed a ship from a certain location when you revisit that place it will be empty ?

I'd think it'd most likely be empty, since I think everything is randomly generated.

@@vinokai Thanks for the reply. You're right, most of them are empty. For science I left some save points in places I've claimed ships, then played for quite a long time, aka more than 24 hours in game before I revisited those save points (mostly they were along the way while I was doing missions). 90% of the time they were empty, I found only twice an available crashed ship again.

some are fixed random ships and others are random positions once collected. I have come across a few respawns in the same spot (random ships to that system) and others will change position and possibly planet with random ships to that system, if that makes sence. I know of 2 spots I can continually go to for downed ship however anything above c or b rank is extremely rare, im slowly discovering more and more fixed but mostly spend to much time flying from planet to planet finding those pesky random ones for higher chance of better ranks

help!!!!!!! I started a couple of days ago, I was in my ship, recently fixed and full of interesting material when I found a crashed ship, I agreed to add it to my ships and I left the game on pause for a while, when I returned my xbox was off because after a while without use it turns off by itself, and when I reconnected the game my character was next to the crashed ship but my other ship had disappeared with all my things !!!!! I can't believe it ... Can someone tell me if I've lost everything ???? I have not found any freighter yet, because I have read that when that happens it appears on the freighter ....... what happened? What I can do????
