A little tip we have been testing. The color of the space station will be the color of your living ship. Also look for a 3 star economy systems, you have a better chance of getting an S - class living ship when you hatch the eggs.

@@ptahenki5306 I tested for that myself and found inconsistency in it, while it may very well play a part, the colours on the same planet are often different. Also, all Living ships are s class so the economy wouldn't affect that like it does standard ships other than exotic

@@XainesWorld ah.. OK good... We read that living ships can come in any class so we did not want to take the chance of not getting an S- class so we always went for the wealthy systems. And as far as we can tell the ships seem to match the stations colors of that stations. We have been trying to figure this out for a bit.. As we wanted a White & Gold ship that we did finally get from a system of that color. Awesome videos it really helps all of us who are lost in space lol Thank you.

I know the ship won't actually change size, but I like the idea of it adapting over time, as it is an organism. Increasing slots is one way it could do that, since we can't use the inventory augments like with other ships.

I think the main drawback of hyper driving with a living ship is no economy scanner. Because of this I still prefer to hyperdrive with an exotic or explorer. The lack of an economy scanner also hampers it a bit as a trade vessel. But you can now buy commercial maps for just navigation data to help mitigate that problem. I do hope they add some sort of all seeing eye that performs the function of an economy scanner and possibly a combat scanner.

What's an ad ('ad' by the way because it's spelled "advertisement")? ... Use adblock. If you want to support a creator, shoot em some cash. If you watch an ad, maybe the creator gets paid a lil bit, but definately youtube gets paid. KZbin then turns around with that money and lobbies our government in many ways along political lines that you might not agree with, while abusing channels that are smaller than corporations by comparison, with a broken DMCA system. KZbin also censors a lot of people, usually people who express opinions that are not in agreement with whatever entity at youtube determines as ok that day. Everyone should use adblock. For crying out loud YT is owned by Google, who has all kinds of cash (adsense is one of their products afaik), these virtual services have all this money while teachers struggle alongside so many of us - grinding our bodies for so little compensation. Doesn't matter your politics, conservative or liberal, use adblock and donate direct support. Ads should offend you.

Hi Xaine, I got the jellyfish last night so am still a couple of days away from getting a ship on 2 saves, I spent a few hours last night building a base on mono-chromatic planets in red, green and blue inhabited systems, hopefully I get a good colour and I'll reload for the style lol. May 2022. Upgrading Freighter cargo slots still expands the living ships Storage Sacs and Organ Chamber but does not effect the Inflated Sacs. Also the refiner trick still works. 👌

When I found my first living ship, I arrived there while in my favorite fighter ship and was dismayed that I forgot that in the wild I can only abandon my current ship while accepting the new one. So I left and came back with an expendable ship....only to find that the living ship was no longer there. If I had not hard saved before all this, my entire live ship quest line would have ended in absolutely nothing.

Living Ship appearance is NOT tied to the system. It's completely random. Just reload the save and start the encounter.

I don't know if this is new but I have found a multi colored living ship, two different colors on the body and a 3rd for the pulsing color. I just found it today and everyone on the anomaly has been stopping and taking a second look so I'm pretty sure it's new. I have found others (with a ton of rejecting and pulsing) but they are really rare and none that have a full body like mine, they're always missing something. I spent 3 hours looking and found 4 multi colored ships but only one with all body parts plus the mohawk .

Swisharooniedoodledandy my fine dudareeno! A minor correction regarding QS mission stacking: you can stack 4 daily QS missions, not 3,however you will only see up to 3 icons at the Nexus mission initiator. Unless this is only how it is on PS4, not sure there. Could be that PC gets a max of 3, like how the PC gets 2 Factory Overrides per puzzle solved. The way the scream suppressor works reminds me of Max Payne, where you never actually healed yourself, you just consumed pain pills (odd right? And dark). Have you heard of anyone getting 2 hearts? I'm in the 3rd phase of Starbirth I think, and I ended up (somehow) with 2 hearts... I noticed it after teleporting to a base right before shutting down last night. I still have 1 mature stem, but 2 of the non-matured hearts... Now I am wondering if I should take one of them out of my suit for fear of a mission bug, or if it will be OK having a stack of 2 of them. As always thanks for the vid, peace!

Can confirm that the shield stats for all ships have that bizarre X1.5 multiplier in game, not just the living ships. Still unclear if the it's just an error with the listed in game number or a purposeful multiplier.

On 2 of my saves I got the mission to trigger and it gave me an active void egg without actually purchasing a void egg at all. So I’m not sure how or when this event happens I know it was happening when I was in a pulse drive mode and I had to pop out of it but if it’s completely random I don’t know

how to have multiple ships in permadeath mode? Wehn i add crashed ship to collection old is gone, even after wrap and reload. i have back up. i want my normal ship and alien ship in permadeath, is it even possible?

Do they change colors? I see pics of red or green ones posted but I only ever see white at the Nexus.

They don't change colours from what colour it is when you get it, though they do have a pearlescent effect. Though they do come in all kinds of different colours

Thanks so much Xaine! Unfortunately, I can't evolve my upgrades. It gives me no option to upgrade them once installed, and before I install them I do see an option to upgrade them, but the command to do so is to press X, which, of course, only installs them. It works the same on the PC with or without the xbox controller. I hope they patch this soon as the living ship is sorta 'eh' if I can only putput around at 163LY.

Upgrading living ship tech pieces is something that is currently in the experimental PC build and isn't out on all platforms untill next patch.

So, to find new upgrades, do I have to run randomly in every solar system? Or are there others in which it is most likely to be found?

Yep and you can expect to find 2 on average per hour, if you do nothing except warp to a system pulse around randomly for 10minutes then move straight on to the next system. And repeat so hitting about 6 stars an hour. In 8 hours of doing that today I got 16 modules. If you don't do it like that and just play as you would normally I'd expect it to take a very long time to get that many, would if I played my normal way anyway. I rarely warp (I just use gates) or pulse for longer than it takes me to get to another planet so maybe 2 minutes max. And I've pulsed for 3 and a half minutes continuously today repeatedly and encountered literally nothing. If you don't like that though make sure to hit a space station to save every few systems or you might be unlucky like I was and have a crash and loose 90 minutes work and 3 modules

All you need to do is just pulse engine for about 1 minute to 1 minute and 30 seconds( i use the space station as an indicator if im a minute away), and be in a empty system devoid of all life to avoid getting NPC's encounters. Still slow but just repeat this over and over while reading or something, worked for me and i got 3 S-ranked grafted eyes tech from one sitting.

I can't even complete Starbirth! The egg icon isn't showing on any systems on my galactic map. Nothing I have tried has fixed this issue. I have the neural piece, and that's it. I need to find the next planet to go to, but no system is showing where to go.

Still looking for living ships but don't want to wait five days to get one? At the end of every mission, just set your PC clock ahead 24 hours. Oh, and you'll need to have Steam in offline mode too. Have fun! 😉

Do the void eggs sometimes drop nothing? I searched for so long, finally found one, killed it and nothing happened :(. Does anyone know if this is a possibility or a glitch? I bought my living ship from a merchant on a space station so i am not sure if that broke the upgrade system.

How many ships do you really need though? I only ever use 2. One to warp and one to fly around in a system. The rest are collecting space dust in my freighter

@@THEPELADOMASTER I also have a ship to jump down black holes and jump to other galaxies, the ship is set up so there is minimum tech in mains so there is minimum tech to repair. I also have an Awesome shuttle😃 A couple of fighters and that is it

Cheap Tactics I use 3. My main ship with full upgrades and weapons. My drop ship which just hauls the stuff I don’t always need but need depending on atmospheric conditions and building etc. last I have a ship that has basic pulse cannons and a scatter blaster installed for black hole jumps and times when I may damage tech. The other ones are basically just ascetics. I also keep an empty fully capacity hauler and research vesselfor farming but I rarely use those now since I’m stupid rich.

This looks complicated and scary. The computer did a thermal shutdown while doing the weekend mission after I bought that egg thing. It has never done that before. Should I destroy the egg I have and get a new one?

I doubt it's the eggs fault, but the throttling is odd, might be all the bases and comm balls
