You guys are so cute together! I love the dry humor analysis at the end of every project. I have one more method to add... try use a q-tip to dab paint just onto the affected areas. Then while it's still tacky, touch it with the tip of your finger several times to disrupt the paint surface until it blends in with the surrounding satin or flat original wall finish. Thanks for the great content, we love all of your videos!

Learned this from a pro house painter a few years ago, painters caulk works great on baseboard staple holes and the top edge of wavy baseboards on walls that are not true as well.

That’s a good idea! I have learned a few tips regarding drywall repair that have served me well, but nothing regarding dealing with knock-down texture. How big of holes does this work with? Up to maybe 1/4”? I tend to run across a lot of holes that were from screws and anchors and they leave a good size hole in the wall that I know mixing up some drywall mud and applying can fix, but then you have to deal with redoing texture.
@turgsh01Ай бұрын
With holes that tiny, I'd usually just fill them in with paint (skipping most of your process). Screw holes or large nail holes, I'd agree with this technique even though I've never seen that before since I never get to deal with textured walls.

Definitely a good way to hide the holes, plenty of them in this house that had been splotched over with filler on textured wallpaper making it look like that one in your garage there... :P

@riccochet704Ай бұрын
pro tip: don't caulk a nail hole on finished drywall. Textured, fine, caulk away, it blends in. On smooth finished walls use a light weight joint compound. Caulk will shrink, and you'll see it on a finished wall. Light weight joint compound has a low shrink rate. Caulk is also great for finishing trim, because it shrinks in to the gap leaving a nice edge. Just saying as something that did this professionally for years.

Caulking is better than spackling because it’s ready to paint when it dries. spackling should be primed before paint. Don’t use toothpaste you’re not in jail and caulking isn’t expensive

Now you have an excuse to paint the entire room! You should see if you can modify a carburetor to do the job. Knock down texture on a wall, eh? Hmm, wouldn't that tend to collect dust and grunge?
