Thanks for your perspective on this process. Always good to see how other people approach the software. I'm a commercial photographer (25+ years) and have jumped into Midjourney since it is the behemoth rolling down the creative highway. I've done a deep dive these past few months and finally getting to the point where my prompts feel more and more like images I would make with a camera. People on instagram ask if they are my photos! And I can only do it with the input by people like you who unselfishly share their methodology.

This video was made with MJ version 5.2. The current MJ version 6 will behave differently. I'd recommend creating a character from scratch with version 6

You can try to upload reference images of yourself as well, although it will work better using pictures from Midjourney. Here's another guide I made for consistent characters in Midjourney: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iIHbdpptnteqd6M that shows how to use reference images and get different facial expressions. If you really want customization of your own characters, the best way is Stable Diffusion + Dreambooth + Lora, although that will require some setup on your end.

Thanks a lot for the awesome tutorial! But what if you didn't mean to create a Consistent Character in the beginning? For example, you happen to generate a really good portrait and you want to keep duplicating it? For now I use seed + INSwapper but I'm sure you have better 😄

I'm not sure what you mean. INSwapper should keep the same face right? Or you mean you just want to switch the face itself. In that case INSwapper is probably your best bet.

The strands of hair in most mj images have a specific non-natural look, not in this video particularly, but in general. In between the strands there is often some pixelation which makes it obvious it's AI, not that there is anything wrong with that, just saying. Is there any keyword we can use to make it not look so obvious? Thanks @@taoprompts
