I like the 4 stroke less maintenance. Bit more linear. Especially when your a bit senior and don’t do it too often.

I definitely fit the category 👍

You handled that really well…
@thatbikersimonАй бұрын
You should bring the Hyper along. We could do a Ducati vs Royal Enfield vid 👍

@ Anytime mate.. be good to do a comparison as I’ve never been on a Royal Enfield - drop us a DM 👍🏻👍🏻

Keep meaning to get myself another bike so I could give this a go, does everyone turn up with their bikes in a van or trailer or do some ride there bikes to the meeting point
@thatbikersimonАй бұрын
I guess it depends on how far you have to travel to the metting point, a van or trailer is better because these bikes are not good on roads for long distances. You should give it ago it’s fun
@The1977andiАй бұрын
@thatbikersimon I only live 20 mins from Matlock so I'm quiet near to the peak District, just got to decide to either tell the wife before I buy a bike or just ask for forgiveness after buying the bike😀
@thatbikersimonАй бұрын
@ I would go for the latter lol and then face the consequences 😂👍

I actually googled joining the TRF the other night. I also have a Himalayan 450 which I brought the night before the ABR festival (yes I did speak to you there) I did my first off road trail on the Bridgestone trail and came a cropper half way around, just the one off and completed it, I would say slightly gingerly. The same thing happened as the CRF rider, I had to turn it off then turn it back on to be able to get it running, I was literally saying to the video “turn it off” lol. I am bang in the middle of the Cambridge and the Northampton TRF clubs so I am a bit unsure what to do! If you join a club do you have to ride with just their members or can you go to any club meet? I probably would have struggled more than the CRF rider, at 62, overweight, no experience (to talk of) and only 5’6”, I think that would have really put me through some torment. Also the Himi only has the manufacturers tyres, which I believe would struggle with that mud, and I currently have no hand guards.

I remember you taking to me, and if it wasn’t for the Himi I wouldn’t of known about the ignition thing. You were unlucky at the ABR. You wasn’t the first to go down the crater if I remember correctly. If you get a opportunity to get some training off road it will make a huge difference. The guy leading this group was about late 70s, so age is not a factor. I think if you join the TRF group you’ll certainly benefit even if you don’t ride that much like me, you not only get access to maps ect but also a magazine gets set out and access to the facebook groups for the advice your probably looking for. I do believe you can also use any club meet. It’s worth the small free to find out. You can also cancer thr membership the following year is it’s not for you. Il try and bring more coverage and answers to this in future videos 👍

@@thatbikersimon I would definitely recommend trying one sometime 300 cc two stroke are amazing so much fun
@thatbikersimonАй бұрын
@ il try and get hold of one sometime buddy 👍
@BassMunnАй бұрын
They're actually easier and smoother to ride in stuff like Simon did in this vid and they don't flame out all the time, 300 2 smoke for the win! And then you have the 2 stroke giggle when you get on it 😁
@timday4225Ай бұрын
Great vid buddy, were you happy with your choice to go with the Husky or do you think the Himalayan would have coped? 👍
@thatbikersimonАй бұрын
Thanks 👍 riding the Husky is great bike such a light bike and fun, I’m tempted to take the Himi on the next one, it would cope for sure, I’m thinking it would need some rally tyres though.
@timday4225Ай бұрын
@ Cheers Simon and happy Xmas to you both. I had a Triumph Tiger for many years and missed the feeling of confidence when taking it off the beaten track, which I used to love on my (very) old XL250. Light is always right as they say. Have a great Xmas and know your channel is greatly appreciated buddy 👍🍺🎄
@ogasi1798Ай бұрын
your tickover is way too low which is par for the course with lots of husky/ktm, wind the screw in about a full turn , it will help with the starting issues and also stop the bike flaming out/stalling so easily - thanks me later 🙂
@thatbikersimonАй бұрын
I’ve already sorted it thanks, the bike needed a bit of TLC. I drag it out of storage and just jumped on it. I’ve bought a seal hook for the forks to which has helped seal the leaking forks.
