As someone who plays on tablet, pc, and controller for fairly an equal amount of time I would say tablet has the best experience, especially on an ipad. It has the portability of mobile and the smoothness of PC gaming (not as smooth as a gaming PC, but definitely better than most non-gaming setups). A lot of complaints I see about people playing on the tablet is how uncomfortable it is when they use their thumbs like they would on mobile. With a tablet's large surface area, you could assign a finger to do a single control. On my right hand I use my thumb for combat buttons like attacking and skills, my index finger moves the camera/mass pick up objects (also helps with catching crystalflies and crabs in multiples), while my middle finger toggles between characters/quick bursts. As for the cons, it does require dexterity and some getting used to. You also don't get to grip the tablet this way so it means that you can only play it while it's flat or docked on something. Currently playing on PC w/controller while my ipad is out for repairs, but while pc is a lot smoother I didn't realize there were things I took for granted on the ipad that I just can't do on pc.

If you had a hard time with using controller with a default setting you can always change it. The one that i use are (PlayStation Controller) R1- auto attack R2- elemental skill Square- picking up stuff Circle - sprinting X- jump Triangle - elemental burst The others are pretty much the same,hope this will help.

My favorite way to play is on my laptop with a controller tbh. When I play normally my face is too close to the screen. I do this automatically. I do use a stand to improve the height of the laptop screen, so it is more ergonomical (you have to get used to it though). I've played with the keyboard most of the time but now I have the controller and dont want to go back. I even bought a second screen today, to use with genshin. This way I can search up guides or look at drop locations without having to alt tab all the time. Really convenient. The second screen and laptop combi are both portable enough to put them downstairs and play while I sit with family as well. It's just not mobile enough to play when I'm gone though, but usually then I don't play genshin or quickly do dailies on low specs on my mobile. A controller also made the way for me to put my laptop on my lap in bed if I really want to play like that. Also, In genshin's natural setup for the xbox controller, I can just use the left button on the back to aim, and and my right one to fire. It is doable to aim this way with the right analog stick.

The PS5 version is where it's at for me. High quality 2-5 second loads at most, and best of all, when using Ganyu, when her first charge hits, I've got the timing memorized for the second one, so I'm like popping off that second shot prompto. Just a tiny bit of vibration twice and I'm ready to pop off Hold L2, and I can either hold down R2 and then flick my finger off to fire the shot, or press Circle, basically when the first haptic hits by the time I release the shot is charged up before any visual cues tell me what to do, or any audio cues, I can literally just go by feel. It feels amazing. To bad a PS5 is as hard to get nowadays as pulling Ganyu XD Like you gotta go on ebay and pay big money for dat shiz!

for controller using ganyu's: change normal attack to R1 and instead sprint to circle if you use ps4 controller.. takes some time to get used to it (especially for other chars) but if you do so you can cancel all your shots with ganyu for the highest dmg output and it's smooth to use without using your hand in such a strange way. P.S.: aiming mode (default L2) + auto attack and still holding L2 is bad for ganyu (takes longer to load your shot again). try only using normal attack (R1 in my case) by holding it and releasing it in the right moment (never touch L2) and then repeat the process. if done correctly you feel the difference in terms of attack speed.

But jokes aside, this is the one rare time I enjoy using mouse and keyboard over controller, mainly cause the menu-ing on controller is a bit clunky and aiming is a lot slower on controller (which is VERY important as a Fischl main since I'm a bow user). But playing some other games like Indivisible and Rabi-Ribi, controller is WAY better.

As someone who is reasonably acquainted with Devil May Cry games, the Auto Attack being on B / Circle and Elemental Burst being on Y / Triangle always makes my brain whirl lol. Overall I still think it's a good way to play. I just stick to keyboard / mouse because... well, muscle memory is king.
