The turtle's shield is actually activated by the number of hit you score on it, like 30 to 40 times, so the best way to deal with it is to use characters with high alpha damage per hit and kill it within the hit limit

Yeah, it helps. Though if you have the right select few, you're also golden. Like Xilonen and a C1+ Chiori means you're set for pretty much every stage, as it leaves you with 2 slots to meet the requirement, if the core two don't. And for most of the stages, one of those two can be Furina, and the other can be some carry, which coupled with Chiori's damage means you win.

To me kenki trio was actually the easiest but that's because I went in with Nilou team where it's hard to die lol. Seeing whales struggle, even a little bit, makes me super proud I could actually pass the hardest difficulty lol (all C0, no Yelan/Xq/Xilonen/Raiden/Kinich/Emilie) and 5* weapons only on Nilou, Neuv, Mualani. I love how suprisingly useful Kachina was to me this event too 💛

For example: You need characters that can apply elements quickly to break the Mimiflora's forms. It's nearly impossible to beat the new robot boss without a Natlan character to remove its resistances (Kachina works great so every player could do it). You need characters that can break the Tortoise's shield without dying. In my case, there's also the fact that, since the time limit can be so tight, sometimes I needed to not waste time triggering a skill or burst. Figuring out what I *don't* need to do was part of the strategy. Additionally, I needed to change some builds like giving Xilonen's artifacts to Kachina or putting Favonius Spear on Xiangling. In other words, it was a skill check.

I saw many people saying you need c6 characters for this event, or that it's impossible. I genuinely believe what happens is that people see how little the health bar moved at first, got hit a couple times, died, and just assumed it was too hard. I genuinely believe any vet or long term player that has well invested characters could have cleared this at max difficulty. Especially if you read the buffs and structured your teams accordingly. I have both Neuvillette c0 and Arlecchino c2, but I didn't use either them for this whole event. Mostly I used Clorinde and Navia teams. All my 5 stars are c0 (other than Arle), with mostly 4 star weapons. I was able to clear this at max difficulty, without too much trouble.

Yup for veteran players this wasnt too hard once you figured out mechanics at some bosses and i mostly have all my 5* at c0 aswell. Though as always the xilo furina kazu yelan team carried me through most of these bosses without me bothering switching

To be fair everyone's first try on the hardest difficulty is likely the Triple Maguu Kenki, and when you see those health bars hardly move as the boss basically one shots you it paints a pretty clear picture. If the first stage is that hard why would the others be any easier?

The bosses in the open world aren't exactly tough for a long term player, let alone a whale. Pretty standard to watch a video of others fighting a boss and go, "Oh, he has mechanics?". Sometimes, that can happen during the Abyss as well.

@@xyliamoonlight2970 But even that, you might not realize. Like my team when I was farming had Chiori and Xil in. That's 2 sources of geo resistance debuffing (Geo resonance, Xil), and a lot of DMG. You get an even stronger effect if you're using Kaz with Xil, say for a Neuv team. And there are a variety of DPS sources that don't care if the thing is up in the air either, like Chiori, Yae, Furina, Emilie, and so on. So you might see the pillars, but one of those characters finishes off the boss, no problem. There's also a really big power gap between a person with c0s and 4 star weapons and someone with conned up 5 five stars that are using their signatures, especially for newer characters. Because the newest characters have more impactful weapons and the new supports improve with cons in a way the old ones don't, so you gain a multiplicative effect. The gap between those that vertically invest and those that don't is growing, and doing so rapidly.

@@xyliamoonlight2970 I think you actually need to get onto the pillars because when I was trying out the boss with my Wanderer (the event version of boss), I could hit towards, but not destroy the crystals until I got onto each pillar. What I did with C2R1 Mualani while farming for Xilonen was just defeat the boss before it could even get to that phase 😂 Edit: Yep, seems there are shields around the crystals protecting them from ranged attacks. You don't actually need to stand on the pillar, but you need to be inside the shield.

I did all bosses with relative ease, but died so many times on the turtle... I tried it without any Natlan characters in my team, and it is nearly impossible. I don't have any 5* Natlan characters... so I ended up using Kachina for the damage buff from triggering 2x Nightsoul. Also Xiangling is amazing at destroying the shield of the turtle.

seeing how many people call this event final difficulty 'whale-only' makes me think most people who ask for hard content are mostly sheep complainers rather than genuinely asking for hard content. i managed to beat the final difficulty of all challenges with my botleg f2p teams (nilou bloom for kenki's, rational for the chicken & mualani vape with xilonen for the rest) without even using food (mostly cuz i didnt known you can use it before starting a challenge) it took a few tries for each but it's at worse 'dolphin' or '1 year plus account' bait difficulty

Time-gated events are not hard at all. They need to stop this trend, I'm already sick of it. However, this event was fun.

The problem is that other type of events aren't really much better. For example, if enemies hit hard, then the current crop of hydro hp scalers have a big advantage, and certain other characters like Zhongli or Dehya can trivialize it, while glass cannons will die. And then people complain (like they did with double consecrated beasts). Dodge or die mechanics, sure, appealing to WuWa players, but not a guy playing on a potato phone with a lot of lag. Trivial to get rewards but the points keep counting mean the points serve no purpose for most people, barring those that want to compete with others. Like, ooh, I got 20k points in the last one of those type events. Was boring, though, because I could barely land one melee hit on a mob before it died. There's also a lot of variance between accounts. A long term player who has spent money is going to be a drastically different level than a newer player. And the gap between those who vertically invest (which typically involves spending) is getting bigger and bigger, thanks to constellations having more impact and the new signatures being much more niche and impactful. Short of Genshin changing how it handles events (require multiple runs to get max rewards, make progress at certain checkpoints, keeps getting harder as you pass each checkpoint) there's no ideal solution. And since Genshin wants a low play time per day requirement, that's just not going to happen.

This wasn't even hard. Enemies didn't hit all that much harder and really, the terrible server delay are more of a challenge then anything this mode actually brought. Seriously, why does a billion dollar company have servers with a half second delay on everything? Not to mention having inflated stats on a time limit also does not equal difficulty. This is just another dps check but for whales. "Do you have ALL the newest 5 stars with multiple constellations? Good for you, if not you can jump off a cliff." Genshin has seriously just become a bad game the longer time has gone on.
