Best Way To Properly Calibrate Esc's With Kiss Fc

This definitely fixed my problem! Took me a second to figure out to set Min Command to 1100 since I don't use an idle up switch or whatever it is, but my brutal yaw twist is gone. Thank you!

Hi Chris. I have followed KISS FC setup videos as well as yours. I click MOTOR TEST box but the individual motor test boxes stay GREY. What am I not doing to get them to turn WHITE? Any ideas? I would appreciate any help. Thanks Alan

i have done this literally twenty times and the individual motors are grayed. -Have the updated gui (1.12) -30a KISS -closed out everything and have even restarted the laptop

u need to turn on ur TX and put throttle to 0 then check the box check the PWM u want and spin the motor with the stick on ur TX

Have you had any problems running RC28 with Oneshot 42??? I recently switched and now my quad will randomly fall out of the sky. If you have any reasons/solutions it would be much appreciated :)

Why is it that I follow these exact instructions but my motors still aren't perfect when I arm my quad. All the motors spin up and when I turn it up they go up when I go down they go down but they aren't at a perfect number, they jump around a little. Also sometimes if I throw the throttle all the way up and then bring it back down all the motors will stay "good" accept one or two motors will start slowly idling up and they wont stop spinning up??

Hi Chris. Tried that many times with no result...however after your reply I tried it and I got the WHITE boxes. Couldn't get the radio to control the motor slides. Can't get the GUI tabs to work. I have to disconnect and reconnect to go to another tab. Not sure what to try next.

Hey Chris, following your video once i get to the Data output -> select test -> select motors -> turn on Taranis -> move sticks ... i get no resonance from the controller. Any ideas? Thanks!

i need to do this badly. but after selecting the test box, the boxes for the motors stay greyed out. i just updated the firmware. what can i do to be able to select those boxes? or is there another way to calibrate the esc's?

I am in the same boat i do have the latest gui and FW. after i turn on motor test i typically notice the gui stops working. every so often i do get the white check boxes but the gui doesnt look like its working.

I tried this method and everything went well until I decided to plug my battery back in and checked it out spinning up my props, as something went wrong and now I can only get my quad to idle down at the midpoint on my throttle stick! And it idles up in either direction (up and down) from there , and I cannot get it Back to normal!! Any idea on what happened-and how to fix this?? Thanks

If I recall correctly, I believe that I just had to reflash the firmware on the escs and/or the FC, and everything returned to normal! Let me know if that works for you...Good luck!

I put check for throttle < 1025.... Only if your radio sends throttle less then - it will be possible to activate motor test. Its just safety measure. Anyhow, your radio supposed to send 1000 when not armed ;))))

You've been lucky. My quad flew out of control into my leg and I got cut pretty badly, because I didn't calibrate the kiss 24's. This was after flashing new firmware to them. Perhaps this was why. Still better safe than sorry. After calibration the quad flew fine.

Alexander Fedorov Me either. I have 3 full KISS quads and I haven't calibrated any of them. They all flew flawlessly as soon I finished building them (except one where I messed up the motor order, but that was my fault).

If you're using Kiss FC and Kiss 24 Amp Race Edition ESC's you will not need to calibrate the ESC's because of the "precise onboard resonator". I have not calibrated mine and it's all good. chrismz - Me too,'I'm used to quads with a different motor order.I had a hard time figuring it out because all motors/props were spinning in the right directions but throttling up caused kaos. lol
