Thanks for this very helpful video! Great clear closeups to show exactly how much gap there should be between gears! MU Kraton v2 is making some louder noises from that center drive gear - I will start by checking the mesh as I think it maybe too tight. Hope that is it.

So if i under this right THE mesh has to be in line with THE different gear and spur gears and the input gears run with the Differential gears i mean grind against each other so the Truck works properly but the input gear is plastic and grinds against the Differential gears which are metal so my gears stripp real fast or slowly against the metal differentials gears i guess it all depends on how hard i drive it and how fast and how many times i drive it whats the spur gears part when Running my 4s kraton 2400kv Motor fully stocked i have a spectrum smart charger and 2 spectrum Batterys 1s a mah 5000mah 14.8 50c THE other is a mah5000 14.8 100c Battery with 2 cooling fans 1 at the front and 1 At the Back of Truck with stx spectrum controller and SERVO its a stx 2 spectrum controller BUT right now as i write this to you my Truck is in the shop with gear problems the input gear that grinds against the Differential gears the spur gear i don't know WHAT plays in the Truck my Question to you is should i go All Metal gears and then shimm them This Avanced Truck is like brand New i bought it back in middle of May for $900Dollars and plus slipper Clutch comes loose After about 7 or 8 runs Iam a Newbie to this Truck just know the basics on fixing it but i want to learn a lot more so i can fix it myself when serious with it goes wrong so i would like to read and hear some Advice on what i should do with the gears leave them the way they are or go All Metal or Aluminum gears and shimm them i know Nothing is wrong with my driveshaft or Else i would be able to Drive it at All or steer the front wheels don't know if iam making sense just stressed out and tired so please Respond asapAnybody out there

I have always used the paper trick, if the piece comes out like an accordion, mesh is good. If it tears, too tight. No accordion, too loose. Your method is easier to handle the motor. Adam Drake uses a more precise method.

@@therccollaborative9524 got another noob question, while I still have your attention :)....so, when i take the motor out I know the driveshafts will fall off the side of my middle differential (I have an Arrma Mojave)....lets, say I take the driveshafts out of the OTHER end, lay them on the table and forget which side went into the middle differential...does it matter which side goes in? I know one driveshaft is longer than the other (at least on my model), so they only go in one way....lol I hope that made sense, it is late and I don't know what the heck im talking about. hence why I am watching tons of videos to learn.

Hi, i purchase a Senton 6S for Me and a Senton Mega 4X4 brushed motor for my son On our 1st run, and then the 2nd this morning, the brushed Mega 4X4 run for 10/15 minutes approximatively and then doesn't want to go forward or brake/reverse, the servo is still working i can turn the wheels right and left. i thought it was a battery problem, but with a fully charged battery the truck run for 10 seconds and then it happens again. I read on the internet that Senton Mega 4X4 have some issues on its esc. did you hear once that issue on brushed motor cause it's a brand new toy and my little boy seems so disappointed each time its truck looks out of order :/ thanks !

Sounds like faulty battery to me too to be honest... My granite can still turn wheels when the battery hits Voltage Protection (Low Battery) but wont move back or forth, so either it's a flat battery or a bad battery!?

It's hard to say what's wrong without more information. Like battery type and voltage Next time it happens let car sit for 20 minutes and run it again same battery without charging it. If it works fine after resting its an overheating issue

Good job. What motor are you running? I’m currently going through a major upgrade overhaul on my v3 Kraton. I was considering changing out the stock motor. There’s nothing wrong with it, but I thought perhaps I could improve it. I’m installing a MAX6 esc, and I was looking at the HW 4274 2200kv sensorless motor. When I went to my lhs they pretty much talked me out of it, stating it’s pretty much the same motor. I had the blx motor with me, and it’s identical in every way. Except for a slightly higher kv 2050 vs 2200. I use my Kraton more like a race buggy, chasing my friends around a dirt field or even a track. Not really into huge jumps, or high speed asphalt runs. Any advice would be appreciated. If I can’t come up with a good upgrade motor, than I guess I’ll continue to run the stocker.

Hey Mr. MAX6, get you what I did with that ESC, go to the R//C JUICE site, purchase either one of these 4092's by HobbyStar, I purchased the 1450kv, but they make a 1730kv also, can't go wrong with either. On mine I was running a 22T and a 24T pinion, swapped back and forth at times but I stopped running 6S, 4S was all I needed

@therccollaborative9524
@therccollaborative9524 5 жыл бұрын
@@ridinglow1701 I had just had to fix the same thing on my mugen buggy. I should have made a video. But here are the steps. 1. Drill off the head of the screws and don't damage or drill the chassis. 2. When the mount is in your hand the screws will be flush with the mount where you can't grab them, its ok. 3. Use drimmel and cut off wheel and cut a groove in the center of the broken bolt, you will have to cut into the mount but it's ok. 4. After you cut groove heat up the broken screw and mount with a torch or heat gun to destroy the threadlock 5. Using flat head screw driver with a small head to unscrew the broken bolt. Without the tension of the chassis and the thread lock being heated it should easily unscrew. 6. Buy MIP tools and this shouldn't happen again 7. Go have fun and tell people to subscribe to rc Collaborative

@therccollaborative9524

You gotta know what your doing... if you use red then you should expect to pre heat it before you remove it. If you do that it's really no issue

@speckledjim_ 4 жыл бұрын
@@therccollaborative9524 your absolutely right but there are lots of people who are maybe new to the hobby and don't know, I tend to avoid the heat treatment hassle and just use the blue, it holds the screw almost as tightly
@therccollaborative9524
@therccollaborative9524 4 жыл бұрын
@@speckledjim_ well honestly I use heat to remove blue as well. It's just a safe best practice as it greatly reduces risk of stripping with a little heat. Some of these screws get re installed several times with blue and it builds up over time holding as strong as red. I like to set a threshold of torque applied with tools, if I can't remove a screw gently with 50% torque then I stop and use heat before I go higher pressure using tools. I hope that makes sense.

You shouldn't do it like that. Just use the slid in motor mount. you're doing it all wrong that is the very difficult way of doing it your defeats the whole purpose of the slide and motor mount. All you do is just slide it in and feel for the mesh with your finger that's it. Gears will just have alittle play and u tighting them up. simple. nobody does It your way. If you look at the instructions in the manual it will tell you just to slid it in place. Very easy

Agreed. I have changed a good number of pinion gears in my day but I find the Talion to be tricky because the metal gears make it a loud truck. There is a way to get it to quiet down because I have done it before but am having trouble this time around so I figured I would look to get a refresher. This way looks effective but it is time consuming and risky given all of the bolts with Loctite on them. Much bigger risk of stripping something doing it this way if you are not incredibly careful.
