How can you guarentee your profiles are set square to each other fair enough the pins on the corner but theres room for error doing it this way i would at least run a line threw
@PATTERSONCONSTRUCTION3 ай бұрын
We do run lines as well mate
@Fordmad903 ай бұрын
@@PATTERSONCONSTRUCTION I know you will run a line from your profiles but I mean when your setting them up before the lines go on how can you guarantee the profiles are square to each other from just putting them next to the pin

Sorry for my questions I have just always set up from hurdles and plummed down off q line I haven't done any big site work

Young mans game that! Are those blocks solid concrete? Why use them instead of the thermolite trench blocks? Would be much quicker and easier to lay!
@PATTERSONCONSTRUCTION2 жыл бұрын
Not sure mate, this site has never used thermo trench blocks yet
@gavinpaterson45592 жыл бұрын
I have done foundations for over 30 years and only used trench block once there not used much in Scotland it’s normally 6inch concrete internal and 4 inch external

I didn’t have my laser with me today but I’ll take it in tomorrow and double check mate. Also 8 course for ground height mate.

Footings are no worse on your body than doing supers if they are scraped off completely. No excuse for all that island crap. Work from barrow and off pallet for blockwork no need to stack out. Wouldn’t do them if not I’m not working like a mountain goat.
@PATTERSONCONSTRUCTION2 жыл бұрын
@@scottjohnson1456 but they rarely come completely flat. 99% of the time you’re working in a trench so it would be impossible to use a wheel barrow, and how could you work from a pallet? That doesn’t even make sense
@scottjohnson14562 жыл бұрын
@@PATTERSONCONSTRUCTION Decent groundwork companies will flatten them off all the ones we do are. We did few that weren’t for someone else it took so much longer. It doesn’t take anytime in a machine to sort it. You can then get your materials/ blocks next to where you working and work from them. Only moving them once . Mixer put next your footing no need for tubs all that mixing station crap waiting for driver to bring it. Bricks only thing need to be loaded out on inside skin for doing your splash obviously
@PATTERSONCONSTRUCTION2 жыл бұрын
@@scottjohnson1456 sounds like you’ve got a good system going on but it would never work on the sites around here. We get ready mix as well so we have to get tubs. It would be a dream doing footings if all ground was scraped away
