Good idea for a future video! Honestly I just read the explanation and key learning educational objective and search key words in Anki for pre made cards. If there are none, I make my own card and I have a video going over how I make cards although it isn’t based off of uworld in that video. Hope that helps!!

No problem at all! Happy it was helpful. I would use the MAIN document to find which specific podcast you’re looking for and then study off of that specific thread/link. Hope that makes sense and best of luck! Let me know if you have any other questions 👍

@AustinNguyenMD2 жыл бұрын
Hi! I honestly did not. I chose not to because of resource overload. There are a lot of different things that people used but I found Anki and Uworld to be the most simple and high yield while allowing me to maximize clinical time and clinical grades. (I also don’t like reading books haha) good luck!!

hey! thanks for the videos. for the incorrects on UW can i just use the flashcard feature on uworld instead of on anki?
@AustinNguyenMD Жыл бұрын
No problem! Happy to help. I would still recommend Anki just because of the way the algorithm is and because it’s more versatile. You can use premade decks in addition to making your own cards. However, I never used uworld’s feature so I can’t comment on it! Good luck!

Howd you do pre-dedicated? Just UW and unsuspend cards related to questions you missed? Or made cards for every card you did. In my first rotation (IM) and days can feel super LONG and 1200 questions on top feels crazy
@AustinNguyenMD2 жыл бұрын
Yeah man that is a tough rotation because it’s long hours in clinic as well as a ton of Uworld questions. Best of luck though! You got this! And pre-dedicated, I just used boards and beyond, Pathoma, sketchy, and Uworld with Anking deck!

Thanks man! Just try to be as efficient as possible. We had virtual lectures every day at noon for one hour and I would log in to zoom then do questions during it and would try to do Anki during commutes. If you don’t get through all the questions it’s not the end of the world but definitely do all of the flashcards!

Thanks so much ! I’m considering writing step 2 Ck first and then writing step 1 after . This is because the courses I’m currently on in Med school correspond to step 2 Ck topics . Is this possible to do step 2 first .
@AustinNguyenMD Жыл бұрын
Hi! No problem at all, happy to help. While it is not traditional, yes you can sit for step 2 CK before step 1 if you choose to. It is not done typically for any US medical schools, but if you are studying abroad and needing to pass the USMLEs to practice in the US, you can take Step 2 first! Good luck 🙌

Starting M1 next week. Anantomy is first and we're doing it in 8 weeks total. Feeling overwhelmed. Do you have any tips on being successful in anatomy?
@AustinNguyenMD2 жыл бұрын
Hi Hayel! I would recommend using Netters Anatomy or Dope anatomy, both have premade Anki decks to help memorize anatomy. Be sure to prep well since in my opinion it’s hard to learn off of cadavers at early stage of medical school since everything looks the same. The MSK Anking flashcards are also very high yield and there are videos in boards and beyond for this! Best of luck!!
@majoreuowii97292 жыл бұрын
@@AustinNguyenMD how would you determine whether netters vs dope vs MSK would be more appropriate? Not sure if it makes a diff, but my anatomy exams are going to be in house written as opposed to the rest of our blocks which are NBME.
@AustinNguyenMD2 жыл бұрын
I would just see which decks you like better! Honestly for in house exams, the Dope Anatomy deck should have everything to cover the anatomy you need to know in great detail. I would always recommend the Anking MSK because this has high yield MSK associations that will be on step 1 and will likely also be relevant for your exams. Good luck!

Great video Austin. Also loved your Anki ones. I do have a question for you though. I'm an IMG who took step 1 about 2 months ago do you think I'll be alright to use Uworld and Anki as my primary resources considering the healthcare system where I'm from is quite different and we aren't taught all these algorithms? Also plan on going over the Amboss qbank as well. Thanks!
@AustinNguyenMD2 жыл бұрын
Hey Atton! Great questions. I think that you are still good to use Uworld, Amboss and Anki since this will cover the main content of the step 2 exam which is super important now as it’s the only scored exam for ERAS currently. I would use this strategy and do as many questions as possible to hammer in on the algorithms. In regard to your rotations, I believe the knowledge base from Anki will translate into good clinical performance but often times on clerkships you just have to accommodate for the system you are in, who your residents are, and how they like things. It’s different everywhere but just be positive and do your best to follow instructions and you’ll do great! Thanks for supporting the channel!! 👍

How did you revise in your last week's by doing 4-5 blocks a day
@AustinNguyenMD2 жыл бұрын
Hey! I took 1 hour for each block and then reviewed for 30 minutes making sure to just review all the incorrect first, then the ones that were marked, and then briefly skim through all the ones that I got correct that I was very confident on as I did not mark them. I hope this helps and best of luck!!

@@AustinNguyenMD So I’m an incoming MS1 trying to establish a solid foundation for M2 (also trying to minimize my dedicated period). Would you say using a Qbank during MS1, in addition to Anking, is essential for this goal?
@AustinNguyenMD2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! I would use USMLERX or Kaplan just to have something to do questions but not waste Uworld right away since it should be saved for the end. Questions are always important but early in M1 just focus on learning and finding a good groove since it’s a lot of information. Maybe 5 questions a day is fine or 20 a week. Once you start M2 you can do more questions and think about Step more! If you can be on top of Ankl from day 1, you’re in great hands for Step 1 and 2!! Best of luck!!
