I love your channel and overall tone and vibe bruh. the fact that you do a lot of very subtle things, like shake the guitar neck on sustained notes / chords on a strat with no floating bridge, is tasteful and really dope to me. respect :)

When I Googled the melodic minor, it said that it is only used in the ascending form. Do you have any coments on this? I guess the other thing is the way it is used in Jazz as scale to play over a ii- V. For instance , over G7 you could play Ab melodic minor. (is that correct?) I'm not usually a fan of modern neo-soul/r&b guitar, it usually sounds like a mish mash of 60s soul and 70s fusion. You play well, in the sense that you make coherent melodic staements and ypu play with a lot of feeling. One of the stumbling blocks with this style is that there almost too many options regarding scales, harmonies, octaves, bends etc. It's like cooking; you can spoil the soup with too many ingredients.
@TitoSilversax
@TitoSilversax 5 жыл бұрын
In classical music it’s used only ascending, with the regular minor scale descending. As guitarist John Stowell smirked facetiously “us jazz guys are only smart enough to use one half of the melodic minor”!
@gavinreid8351
@gavinreid8351 5 жыл бұрын
Used on the ascent and descent it is sometimes referred to as the Jazz melodic minor.

I really dont get it. When I play the scale like it is showed in the photo, it sounds weird to me. Othe notes seem to fit. But when you play it, it sounds super cool. Dont what I´m doing wrong
