Backdoor dominant is specifically the bVII. Non-resolving is a better term for 7s that arent about to resolve up a p4. On a 12 bar blues, try bars 9 - 12 thus. V myx b6 IV lyd b7 I Valt

I was very pleased when the algorithm brought these guys back into my life. Had not seen anything from them in years and then one day they pop up, absolute monster players and these videos are wonderfully produced

You are my new favorite guitar / music channel. The level you explain things is perfect for me (lazy ass 40 year player who picked up a lot information over the years). The symmetrical whole tone string patterns and altered scale use on the 4th bar of a blues lessons were cool new ways of looking at things for me. Thanks for your efforts 🙏🤙

Thanks for the kind comment. We have tons of new stuff coming out. We appreciate you tuning in! Are there any topics you'd like to see a lesson on?

That was fantastic. You're really stepping up the production game. 🔥 (Now only if you could get the Train Pullin' Dopehouse Blues guy on......🤣 )

was your finisher with the 7th mode of melodic minor (altered) in pentatonic minor or is the pentatonic minor able to fit into the altered mode without going out of key? the transition was really fast so i wasn't sure if it was built in or if that was a finisher/flourish
@marbinmusic Жыл бұрын
The last lick was F# altered mode and then a resolution to Bm pentatonic

This is excellent and now a great excuse for me to start using these scales (along with others) but just one question if you could is how would I know which mode I'm in as all these scales including the majors come with 7 (in the case of tones) different names ie: F melodic minor is also named G Dorian b2 also named Ab Lydian Aug etc or does the name itself actually matter? Anyway great stuff and I will be checking out the others.

Modes describe sounds. The sounds they describe are a relationship between a parent scale (such as F melodic minor) and a bass note that that scaled is applied on (any note within that scale) If you apply F melodic minor to the root note G that relationship is called Gdorian b2. If you apply that same scale to an E you get E altered.

@@Tridan24 you’re welcome. Not sure what you mean when you say G progression. Maybe it would be better for you to think of things one chord at a time for now

Mixolydian b2? b6 uh... you got me messed up. Is this correct? Does not compute. That is not an inversion of melodic minor is it?
@marbinmusic14 күн бұрын
Mixolydian b2 b6 is a mode of harmonic minor. Mixolydian b6 is a mode of melodic minor.
