Hello from Greece, i agree with you i have a setup with two sony cameras, i shoot weddings and i have on the first camera the 16-35mm f2.8 G master and to the other camera the tamron 35-150 and it is the ultimate setup because you have all the mm for the job to be done
@MatthewHadley202 жыл бұрын
Couldn't agree more. I typically will keep a 35mm 1.4 G master on my b camera and have that on a gimbal. That gives me that extra stability and depth if I want to switch things up. Thanks for watching!
@javiersong2 жыл бұрын
I currently have the 16-35mm GM too and planning on getting the 35mm-150mn. The great thing about this setup is that both lenses have the same thread size, so you can swap the ND filters from one lens to the other.

on "Sample footage" part we can see white balance shift . Is it because you filmed with AutoWB ?
@MatthewHadley2019 күн бұрын
Actually, it was because the sun was going down and I didn’t have it on AWB. I didn’t keep up with the changing sun. Good catch though.

as a backup for a bcam this makes sense, but having a 70-200 2.8 helps a lot, you won't realize how much until you are in a situation where 150mm isn't enough.
@216productions2 жыл бұрын
The 70-200 GMii is outstanding. But on most of the newer Sony full frame cameras you can go into aps-c crop mode and bring this to 225mm. Only disadvantage I really see is the variable aperture so the lighting will change as you zoom.
@patgilmour72632 жыл бұрын
@@216productions I don't use crop really. unless it's a crop body. Even then. the 200 mm becomes a 300 mm on crop.
@216productions2 жыл бұрын
@@patgilmour7263 yea I feel you. I rarely use crop mode, but sometimes it’s very helpful especially if you’re shooting in 1080 and don’t want to crop in post. I’m just pointing it out because unless you’re shooting sports or wildlife you rarely need to reach beyond 225 but having 35 on the wide end is very useful. My current go-to for basketball is the Tamron 70-180 but this would be so useful when I’m on the baseline to be able to zoom out to 35. And also with my A7IV I could do 4k60 and the crop wouldn’t be problematic. I guess it just depends on your needs like everything regarding gear.
@MatthewHadley202 жыл бұрын
No, I'd agree that the 70-200 GM is phenomenal. It's still on my list of lenses to pick up. However, the wider focal range (35mm) is what really appeals to me when I'm "run and gun" shooting. 70mm just isn't wide enough for me when I need that quick natural shot. Also, that I can get a 35mm at a 2.0 aperture is amazing. That extra 50mm from 150 - 200 is helpful though. Thanks for watching! Cheers!

It’s a great lens, and pairing it up with the 17-28 or 20-40 you have a great KZbin kit also! ☺️ That’s what I use most of the time on my videos 😊

I shoot a lot of events hybrid for social media, Tamron are making some nice lenses, the one Im interested in is the 20-40 F2.8

I’d agree! That sounds like an amazing lens as well.
@markshirley01 Жыл бұрын
@@MatthewHadley20 my logic is - if I use it with the A7R5 I can also get 60mm at 30mp in crop, Im not sure also if I stretch some clear image zoom out as well.

Thanks for the video, all your wedding video are shot handheld with the tamron? Would love to see your setup
@MatthewHadley202 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I’ve settled on a handheld setup with my Tamron. It allows me to take advantage of the zoom. Also, the weight would make a little challenging to put in a gimbal. Not to mention the weight shifting as the lens goes in and out. Anyway, I’ll consider putting a video together of my setup. It’s been on my “to-do” list. Thanks for stopping in. Cheers.

Hi, can you please tell me the name of this song?
@MacBookBro12 жыл бұрын
Agreed it’s an amazing lens. I assumed you were calling it a 35-200mm to reflect the super 35 APSC mode that gives you up to 225mm. I own just about all the g master’s up to the 100-400mm folks it’s worth it! No compliments, don’t be afraid of the Tamron name. I purchased used for $1500 it has not disappointed.
@MatthewHadley202 жыл бұрын
Exactly! I feel Tamron (for good reason in the past) has gotten a bad name. But this lens is really really good. I wish I had thought of the super 35 crop, but I actually just mis-spoke. Oh, well.

Nice focal range. Is it very sharp at 35mm?
@MatthewHadley202 жыл бұрын
I don’t add any sharpness to my camera settings so you can click to the part in the middle of my video, where I give some examples of the different focal lengths, and see for yourself. I’d say it’s not overly sharp. That actually is nice for more cinematic wedding videos that I tend to shoot. Cheers and thanks for watching!

Interesting but don't you find youself having to moving aroung all the time to get a different angle? I shoot with 3 cameras most of the time 1 wide 1 close and 1 floats everywhere each from a diferent agle. That said I don't think that there is better or woese way, whatever get you the desired result with minimal effort is the best
@MatthewHadley20 Жыл бұрын
For sure. There’s many ways to get the same result. And yes, you do have to be mindful you’re not standing still and just punching in and out. However, I find with my setup that less is more. I’ve done the multiple cameras with multiple focal lengths and it was just too much gear. I like the flexibility of having one camera and knowing I can get all my focal lengths no problem. Also, as a single shooter I have to do far less (can you repeat that so I can get it in another focal length) moments. Haha!
@digitalgenre7194 Жыл бұрын
I like the answer. Ya 3 cameras is lott of gear, and I do hybrid. I was primarily photographer but people keep asking for video so Imergerd to get more clients. It's a lot gearand IAM looking to cut it. Thanks for replying mate. Appreciated.
