I was in a car accident in 2010, and I was left with a severe traumatic brain injury. Since then, I have tried everything to sleep to no avail. I just can not sleep, but I have not tried a white noise machine yet, and I am praying that It helps.

I need the white noise machine b/c my neighbor likes to fall asleep w/ his stereo on. Never thought of streaming white noise; thanks for the idea. I love the Hatch Baby Rest. My mom had the Homedic. Didn't know white noise could damage hearing at a certain volume ...learned something new!

I love white noise. I am disabled and in a ton of pain so I have a very hard time falling and staying asleep so this would be a wonderful option for me. I think I like the hatch baby one plus the best as I like the nightlight option and the alarm option as well.

Our neighbor behind us plays his music so loudly all you hear is the bass sound. He plays it 24/7. I bought one from amazon yesterday...its arriving sometime today. I also been wearing earplugs. I bought the BuffBee white noise machine.It kinda of like the hatch baby machine but for adults, children, and baby.

I'm bummed. You didn't point out that the sound level from the Marpac Dohm is rediculously low. Usually people get white-noise machines to block out other noise, but the Dohm doesn't block out anything. I'm disappointed you failed to mention this.

I just find white noises to be soothing. I can fall asleep without, but I prefer to the sound.

Any white, or pink or brown noise works for me as long as I keep it at a low volume. I sleep great and have vivid dreams even if I can hear other sounds at the same time. But I can't use it more than 2 hours otherwise it makes me too sleepy to get up in the morning.

The best spot to place white noise machines is to duck tape them to ceilings for inconsiderate ignorant cattles up above you, and most of them are not loud enough. The manufacturers need to make them a little louder

Our neighbor has a very loud beagle, basset hound type dog that barks constantly at everything, even when the owners are there with him. They don't tell him to be quiet, they just act like they don't hear him. Tired of it, that is why I am looking into a white noise machine. I currently run a fan but it is too cold to do this in the winter and early spring. Would be nice if the selfish neighbors realized they aren't the only ones in the neighborhood.

I have the hatch baby..... it is a great machine.... except it recently stopped working after 1.5 years of using it during naps. Sooooo a little disappointed. Wish things were built to last. :( That being said, if I don’t find anything comparable, I’ll probably buy another one.

To be honest, why would you buy a white noise machine (costs around 30 USD approx.). Apps, such as Sleep Cycle, have white noise (even black, brown and pink).

that's a fair question. I am looking to get a separate unit because using my phone every night is wearing out the battery. It's much cheaper to purchase a sound machine than a new iPhone battery.

The people above us don't care and they bang all day and night. I asked nice but nothing plus the police and city wont do anything. The building manager won't do anything because we have been here 10 years and we pay less rent due to the fact that they haven't upgraded our unit and each time people move in the increase the rent. We pay 980.00 per month and now same size units go for 1500 to 1700 per month. There is no justice in London Ontario Canada!
