Diana from Germany version of 'Run to you' was just amazing. The control and the building up to the big notes was just effortless. She for me stood out of all the rest and had the best interpretation of the song. The others for me just sang to show off their range where I think Diana understood the words and meaning and tone of the song.

Monkeywithagunn it could also have to do with her being American and not having to worry about the words and the pronunciation so much. All the other ones don't have English as their mother tongue so they rather concentrate on the words. But you're right, Diana was amazing! She sang "I will always love you" in the finals, though, and it really wasn't that great.

Thats a really interesting analogy however i've heard other singers where english is not their first language and still interpret the song amazingly well. I don't think thats really an excuse however I'm willing to accept that might add to it. I think feelings are universal and when you can express that through songs it doesn't matter what your native language is people will connect to it. I felt that Diana was able to do just that more successfully than the others.
