The part about getting baits back from tules is the greatest. It takes experience to know when you can slide it up the reed and when the reed might be bent across it. Great stuff. I wish you guys would describe the depth and vegetation a bit more in the delta. You said you are not fishing in more than 6-8ft int he delta in winter? Does that mean you are not trying to get those fish in the channel?

Thanks for the support Jon. Here is my 2 cents on depth. Most delta live there life in 1 to 5 feet of water when the temp is around 60 or over (summer) Colld water, less than 60, (winter) most bass live in 5 to 10 or 12 feet of water. If they go into deep water out in the channel it is for a very short time. You will know when the fish are in deeper water, they will be chasing bait and busting up the surface, you know how often that happens, not much. So I usually fish less than 10 feet of water year round. Good luck.

I will give these tips a go this weekend , weather is dropping and water is rising from Rain. I usually throw underspin Keitech or flashy swimmer for search bait but have put away the spinnerbait and chatter . Time to bring em out
