Have you tried Allies of skin? Pricey side of things but so far I've been loving their products for my sensitive skin, especially as I adjust to tretinoin in our very dry Prairie candian winter! They are cruelty free, mostly vegan line, but some products do have honey and yogurt. Would love your honest reviews. Xo

The Illiyoon Ceramide ATO Concentrate Cream is my newest and most favorite heavy duty moisturizer. They also have a lighter version that doesn’t have the word concentrate in the name. It’s cruelty free, vegan, and absolutely wonderful on my super sensitive, dry, acne-prone, aged skin that can’t handle petroleum or mineral oil.
@WandaLeee8 ай бұрын
This is the jam I use when I need a heavy duty moisturizer. This winter has been mostly -20°c or below where I live and this has saved my skin. It's so cold outside and inside it's warm and dry, so after toner, essences, serums etc. I seal everything with this cream. It's my daytime and nighttime cream. @CassandraBankson please check out this cream, it's awesome! ❤

Vanicream products are so good if you have sensitive or rosacea prone skin. They are the only things that I have ever put on my skin that haven’t burned or caused redness. I heard that Melissa Gilbert uses Vanicream products. Go figure…guess I use celebrity skincare! But, FYI Vanicream is NOT expensive!

I have super sensitive, dry skin (with some flare ups of rosacea and perioral dermatitis) & the game changer for me has been a moisturizing simple toner (no stripping ingredients) on a damp/wet face before putting any creams on! The one I like is the dear klairs supple prep unscented toner (vegan)! And then i put a variety of creams or oils, etc depending on how dry and cracked I am, but this step seems to make a difference in how much everything else actually absorbs! I’ll even use the white rabbit cotton sheets and this toner for a diy sheet mask (cause I’m allergic to sooooo many things)!

I love when Cass gives a product I love her stamp of approval ❤ that elf one is top notch 👌🏻 Also, is it normal to have to layer multiple moisturisers? My skins so dry & rough and thirsty that I find myself needing to layer thin to thick over an ha serum & finish with that dermatica balm and liz arden 8hr. My skin’s literally slurping all my money up these days and idk if I’ve spoiled it too much or if something else is going on?!

It's absolutely normal to need to layer products. I've had very dry skin since I took Accutane, and I've layered moisturizers for years. Just adjust what you do according to your skin's needs. And I strongly recommend slugging with petroleum jelly or Aquaphor at night.

Thank you so much for this video Cassandra! I don't know how many hours (way too many!!!) of KZbin videos I have watched looking for this specific information. And finally, voila, this appeared. I have sensitive, dry, mature skin (sensitive first). My skin doesn't tolerate much as far as actives. I have been using Herbivore's Prism AHA BHA Serum for a few years, but that is the extent of my actives. I am on the hunt for a moisturizer with skin firming and elasticity enhancing properties that leaves a soft, silky feeling on my skin, not oily, waxy or dewy (does that rule out oil based moisturizers?). You would have had me sold on the Biossance one, if not for a BAD reaction that I had to an ingredient in their sunscreen that I believe was marketed for sensitive skin. Any recommendations as to which one of your many phenomenal recommendations might work best?

I layer my moisturizers... I have sarcoidosis and develop a "lupus rash" sometimes. It gets incredibly cracked and can bleed but I have found using my serums then using a gel moisturizer, misting with a rose water, letting sit for a min and then using skin fix. I will let all that sit and right before bed I will use either triple paste or lrp cicaplast right before bed really helps I also live in michigan and it gets rough in the winter here.

I think it's time you prepared a video about animal cruelty in cosmetics, at least the way you see it. I consider myself an open minded person, so I'm ready to listen to your arguments. But so far... From what I understand, animal testing is forbidden in the EU, so, if CeraVe products are available here, they have to be cruelty free by definition, right? I do love Cerave creams, they never pile on my skin. Hope you can clarify this some day. ❤
@tfoxx178 ай бұрын
If a product is sold in mainland china they’re obligated to test on animals. Although they’re doing away with some of these laws (thank god!), the majority of brands sold in china still test on animals. Therefore, a product can be cruelty free in the EU but if it’s sold in mainland china it is not getting that PETA stamp of approval of being 100% cruelty free. A lot of brands actively refuse to sell to china because of this, despite losing a lot of money in that market space. Therefore, I always google “is x brand sold in mainland china” to confirm its 100% cruelty free!

As you once mentioned salicylic and aha BHA should not be used together can aha BHA be used once a week and salicylic daily except the day when aha BHA is used

Hi! 🫧BHA= Salicylic acid, AHA= Glucolic acid (amongst others). 🫧Some products are formulated with both in them, but a good rule to go by is not to mix them yourself in the same routine. Instead what could be done is to use one in the morning and one in the evening, or as you say BHA some days and AHA some days. 🫧I myself have noticed that my skin likes The Ordinarys Salicylic acid serum every night, but I only use glucolic acid once a week now (it can easily be overdone). Best of luck to you! ❤Johanna.

One thing that I have noticed after getting sick with COVID, FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER January 1 through the 10th, my face cleared up completely (I have chronic Rosacea, and it totally went clear for about a week while I was sick) It's like your immune system attacks the viruses and the disease process clears up your skin, while the Rosacea vanished! After I recovered, I noticed it got somewhat redder and drier again! Weird!

I struggle to find both face and body moisturisers that work plus lip balm. I have dry skin but also I’m on oxygen so I can use petroleum based products since it’s dangerous. I have to be super careful when buying anything especially my face and lips and that comes into the most contact with the oxygen. It stresses me out trying to find new things to try because I still haven’t found something I love that helps me enough I didn’t know about petrolatum and that isn’t not flammable I’m gunna have to look into it more
