Mitch, If you happen to get snow at your house this winter, I will be so excited and happy for you! As someone who lives in the Tennessee Valley, I understand the struggle of the snow always skipping over our house (most times), however we did get about a half inch of snow back on December 11, so I guess I can’t complain, especially with also getting to experience the central valley’s biggest snowstorm since 1996 back in last January (8-9 inches of snow in many areas). I would not be mad if we didn’t get anymore snow this year as long as you get some!

3:18 the coldest time of year in where I’m from, beaver island Michigan, and rest of northern Great Lakes both have February as their coldest month because the lakes hold onto the cold accumulated throughout winter and keeps it frozen

15:20 actually i was reading online and even at day 10 the models still xan have an 80% accuracy! Its wild. Models are getting extremely accurate these days, at least with winter weather though using it in the south it may be a bit harder to forecast

Don't get me wrong, I find twisters to be fascinating. However, in trees or at night in higher population centers it's the worst, and tomorrow looks like it could be one of those days. Feeling so anxious for the folks in western North Carolina and Eastern Tennessee who lost their homes to Hurricane Helene. Many are still in tents. Many in campers that are not going to do well in the deeper cold that's coming.

In feb 2021, here in Central Louisiana, Alexandria Airport was below freezing for 5 straight days. Having a high below freezing only happened around 15 times before so 5 days straight was an anomaly. That darn global warming making it cold like that, should be ashamed. We had 0.1 inches or greater of snow here only 25 times from 1883-2007. Weve had 0.1 or greater, 18 times from 2008-2023. Sneaky global warming.
