Hi brother! I rarely comment on KZbin video, but I've been following you for a while now and I've always love your detailed and honest reviews. I've used all type of security camera for my business and my house, from ring, wyze, nest, LaView etc.. Last year I was looking to an upgrade that will not require any membership, wiring or major install. After watching your video "Eufy Security EufyCam 3 Review". I was sold by the IA detection and the local storage. When a couple of month I watch your video about the new S340... I was sold. I end up getting 4 of those, wish by far are the best security camera I ever own for the house. I'm about to get an extra one to put in the backyard. Thanks for the great work you put out there for Us.

I picked up an S340 during Black Friday. I'm pretty impressed with it. It does seem to have a weaker wifi signal than my other Eufy cameras in the same spot, but with the Base Station as a repeater, it seems to be doing okay. I have it plugged into my outlet, as the front of my house really doesn't get much sun at all. I will say that for best results, you want to put this camera up higher. Like 7-10 feet. It can't rotate down as far as you'd expect. Thanks for another great comparison, LifeHackster.

Purchased two s340 cameras, worked alright for five days then started to play up, rang Eufy they told me to reset and sync again. Went alright for two more days then started to play up again. Rang Eufy again they told me to do the same thing. Got my money back.

Great review as always. I don't mind the Reolink's problems. I'll go for the PoE one anyway, 50m cable in the ground to the front gate is a one time effort, so I prefer wired setups for where the security is paramount. Watching over the horses, chicken, etc can be WiFi, they won't steal my stuff anyway😊

Glad I ran across your review. I've been wanting a camera with local storage and no subscription in case our internet goes down and was looking at both of these. I would love to use POE, but my house doesn't have an attic to run cables thru and going under the house isn't really an option at this time due to physical issues...maybe in the future. So solar is the best option right now for certain areas. Even though the Eufy's night vision is lacking, seems like the better choice.

Thank you, informative & well laid out, however, "we" found it very it very confusing when you kept changing the name of a camera, then back again. Eg: trackmix, then reolink, then back again, not knowing much about cameras at all, we were only just keeping up, then you added another word, then removed it, so we wasted a lot of time rewinding. The title under the video is the whole reason why we both clicked on it, so from then on, the use of REOLINK & EUFY, would not only have been enough but saved an awful lot of time. Good video as always. Eufy the clear winner. Reolink really needs to fix downloading footage. Jumping through all those hoops to download your footage is ridiculous.

Their cameras also have a ton of false triggers. I have one setup in a room where literally no one goes into and nothing moves, yet it constantly triggers, records, and sends alerts. Their cameras also trigger, record, and alert when you just load the live view then close it. Probably because you have to put a micro SD card in them in order to remotely watch through them, and record. That's not annoying at all, 🙄

Reolink seem to have a crappier UI compared to eufy.. you should use pan/tilt first on the tracking for the trackmix. It won't zoom out and stay zoomed in on the target everytime the camera pans side ways.

Will the Eufy S340 still work if you block it from connecting to the internet? My Wyze and blink doesn’t work at all when blocked from the internet. No recordings. I can block my Trackmix, everything works perfectly, just doesn’t send out notifications, but pet/human/vehicle detection all work.

Thanks for the review. I was looking at both these cameras. The biggest drawback for the Eufy,, for me is it will not connect to a Windows client. I don't own a smartphone and other cameras I have tried connecting Cloudplus through an Android Emulator will not work, I don't know if Eufy's app would. If you have any suggestions for solar Wi-Fi outdoor camera with a Windows client, it would be appreciated.

These cameras are great EXCEPT they are very buggy. I get tons of event recordings with nothing showing. I have changed the sensitivity a bunch but still goes off way too much when nothing happens. It snowed recently and the snow fall kept setting it off.

track mix as better video quality and audio .. the eufy is smaller which is nice. but i have a track mix plugged in and its works perfect.. the load times you mention can be caused by if your phone is connected to your wifi.. the reolink cameras wont load if your phone is connected to wifi.. turn off the wifi on your phone and it will load no issues. I use eufy E40 For my shed.. its only goes off when someone is there and thats all i need it to do. trackmix battery has alot of processing to due for a battery and i wonder how fast that battery last.

It is in 5G cellular connection in my demo. My other Reolink cameras loaded up fine. The trackmix battery uses up battery pretty quick if not hooked up to a solar panel. Thanks for watching!

BTW, I do notice this too once in a while about having your phone connected to your WiFi and having a hard time loading up the camera mostly Reolink and Eufy. Do you have a mesh network? Do you use an iPhone? Im not sure if this is a camera issue.

Night and day difference in video quality if you ask me... and is that not the most important aspect of a security camera? Reolink wins IMO, as usual. Just sucks that it can't record to their own NVR but you can record 24/7 to a high endurance SDcard. The little issues with Reolink seem to be mostly all related to firmware and not hardware. Based on Reolink's track record, there's a high chance it'll be fixed with an update.
