@EllaSilentDragon

@@PeterBarber You might (just might 😅) be ready for Hurrikan. 😊😇 Also check out the Pump It Velvet version. No harsh vocals, but Nicos voice is especially lovely. ❤ Electronicore is a mix between Metalcore and electronic music. And Metalcore is a mix between hardcore punk and various very heavy metal genres.

A must see is HYPA HYPA LIVE in Cologne 🥳 all kinds of different screaming techniques live (pig squeal and all), Kevin and Nico harmonising in cleans and harshes, high energy from band and audience 😊 🩷🩵💛💜❤️ Hate/Love Live at Wacken World Wide 2020: One of the first live concerts with Nico Prism Acoustic LIVE in Munich: A different side of EC 😊

You really can't go wrong with any of them tbh. If you want to see another side of them try Parasite. Tekkno Train is one of my faves though. I now am officially retired from mosh pits, ended it with these guys. 30 years of just getting smashed in the pit & I was 25 years older than the people around me but it was still the best. Oh yeah Nico is getting into doing the harsh vocals too so they're able to support each other. Deffo check out a live video of we got the moves or something. And yes the plate guitar actually works!

Nico does the clean vocals on recordings but on tour, he does both. In fact, when Kevin’s son was born, he left the tour to be with his family. For those shows where he was gone, Nico did both vocals, switching back and forth for most of the set.

I remember an interview where they mentioned that Nico and Kevin sing clean and harsh together. Just that in clean Nico is prominent and in harsh Kevin is the lead voice

The real fun fact is: with this song they applied to the European Song Contest (ESC). But the German ESC board rejected the application because it was not radio friendly enough. One of the dumbest decision ever, and they are not lacking on dumb decisions.

@@richardgoddard37 Lord of the Lost was in 2023. EC applied in 2022. Although I did not liked the song of the LotL, because it was a very generic song with a lot of repetition, it was a glimmer of hope, that something had changed. But it turned out, that was only a exception.

The plate as a guitar is an actual working guitar they've had made just for this, it's shown in the behind the scenes video. it's not actually heavy of course but it looks good.

They are capable of death metal and death core, and a lot of other things. I like that they're flexible and can make all sorts of music, lol. Like, "F*kBoy" is pretty pop-punk, and Hurrikan... well... I love these guys. They are really true to themselves, lol.

I'm sure you've seen them by now, but if you haven't, they made a Pump It Vlog #1 and #2 that are like a "bridge" between We Got the Moves and Pump It; they're quite fun! The well-muscled man in the yellow tank top lifting dumbbells is featured at the end of We Got the Moves. The smaller, platinum-blond guy lifting dumbbells is a multi-medaled paralympian, and both these guys are featured in those vlogs. Also, when this band was formed in 2010, they basically were a deathcore band. They've added other styles and the humor over time; their style seems to have been inevitable.

Yes! Love that one! ❤ Did you spot the seemingly exhausting db shoulder press somewhere in the middle, where you only see the muscles on the back? And when you look closer its just 2kg Dumbbells or something. 😂 And the end is just the best! ❤ Please watch Pump It - The Velvet Version as well! (I like to call it the SPA version) So beautiful 🥰

I absolutely love when you do Electric Callboy analyses! Both Kevin and Nico (yes, Nico does harsh vocals as well) have quite impressive English pronunciation in their harsh vocals, especially given that English isn't their first language. I've always noticed that about Kevin. He doesn't stretch and manipulate the vowels like a lot of harsh vocalists do. Despite that, he can do some pretty awesome growly things. I think you would have a blast with "Hurrikan" from them. Tank the Tech has said that Kevin also has impressive projection and volume in his harsh vocals. I would love to see if Elizabeth's upcoming research sheds any light on the projection aspect. How do guys like Kevin and Alex from STP have such loud harsh vocals?

Peter has the interesting perspective of knowing deathcore before metalcore, so him comparing EC to deathcore is funny since usually people are introduced to metalcore before getting heavier to deathcore 😂

Deathcore varies a lot. You could easily call EC a deathcore band. They just add the pop/electronic that most deathcore bands don't

Since you regocnize the MetalCore parts so well (and say it's clearly not pure DeathCore) - how about you make a reaction/analysis to HURRIKAN. That'd be fun (but tbh, everything from EC is fun!). Sadly it's not even 2min (the video is a bit longer than the acutal song). (And maybe look for some translated lyrics before you do that, the first part is German...)

Here's the progression to the music genre Electronicore: Hardcore Punk × Extreme Metal (in broad terms) = Metalcore (Metallic Core). Electronic × Metalcore = Electronicore. Also, Death Metal × Metalcore = Deathcore. For the most part, any genre with "core" in the title is a sub-genre originating from Hardcore Punk. Those "jagged/chuggy" parts in the song where everyone in the band stops playing and comes back with big heavy notes is called a breakdown. Stopping altogether isn't required for a breakdown. Even reducing the tempo to half speed or slower can fall under the term. Breakdowns are absolutely a big part of Deathcore because currently the genre contains them more than any other. The original breakdown actually emerged in electronic music from producer Tom Moulton in the 70's with the "disco break" as a way to remix songs. As an avid metal listener who switched over to dubstep many years ago, I always appreciate your insight to the electronic synths and effects used in songs.
