Being Canadian I am biased toward our flag, but our flag is so important to Vexillology that it created the term "Canadian Pale" (Thanks CGP Grey for teaching me that) meaning that the center colour, in Canada's case white, takes up half the area of the whole flag instead of the traditional third of the flag.

i dont blame Shwabadi at all. considering that origin of nazi flag is AH taking symbol of something beautiful and turning it into what we know today as one of worst symbol in history, i dont judge anyone who sees the symbol and judge it for what it is instead of what it represent. for those who dont know, Swastik is symbol of hinduism and it represents well-being, good fortune and prosperity.

Okay, if you want me to be honest. The Nazi flag in Japanese culture symbolizes prosperity and good fortune for it's people, and Oda actually wanted to use it for Whitebeards actual flag. I'm not supporting the Nazi flag but saying it out loud, and thanks for Mentioning South Africa's colorful flag. I just like it's flag

The Nazi flag does NOT represent prosperity and good fortune in Japanese culture, just the symbol on it, the swastika. Be careful of what you're saying, someone might take you to imply Japanese people associate Nazism with good fortune, as opposed to them simply using a symbol that many cultures around the world have used to represent a variety of concepts for thousands of years

That isn't he nazi flag, it's a swastika which is a holy symbol in most parts of asia. The nazi version is rotated slightly so it's easy to distinguish

I actually learned about this in middle school. Purple dye was harvest by catching Murex sea snails and drying them in the sun on fabric for hours, and the purple ooze would dye the cloth underneath. You needed a LOT of snails to make clothes of any kind, as you can imagine.

Two of my favorite flags are actually from here in Canada, the Newfoundland provincial flag, and the Nunavut Territory flag! They are both really nice and have great meaning to the province/territory they represent.

As a greek i have my bias obviously, but i really think the old greek flag (blue background with a white cross) was a really good design. Simple, yet conveyed the character of the country so well (the cross standing for the orthodox church, the blue being a color linked with the blue sky and the sea, while the colors blue and white have been deeply associated with greece nowadays. And during the monarchy era (or eras given how many times that came and went) a small gold crown was added at the center of the cross. Simple yet effective

I loved this episode! No one I know has this hyperfixation except from me, so I can't really talk about flags, and this episode was so great to listen to! My favourite flag, apart from the Bhutan one and the Estonian one, it's actually the Russian Empire one. And the Vatican city one, that is also a very visually pleasing one for me!. And one of the flags I hate the most has to be the Manchuria flag. It's simple, but I hate the colours chosen so much- Also, on that note, I have done a bit of researching into spanish flags, and there's surprisingly several province's flags that are mostly purple!

As a Wisconsinite I can only agree that a blue flag with [State Name] [State Coat of Arms] [Founding Year] is a terrible, unoriginal and uninspiring flag designs. Most state flags need heavy redesigns to make them stand out from one another

A perfect flag in my opinion is the Virginia state flag, it has the state seal of the embodiment of virtue standing over the body of tyrany with the state motto "Sic Semper Tyranus" or thus always to tyrants which really embodies Virginia as a state having been the start of the American revolution

7 minutes in & i here them say the Bangladesh flag is mid, im already not happy. Cmon all of the subcontinent flags are goated. India does have a pretty terrible green but other than that it's really good. Sri Lanka may be a lot but it looks so sick, when it comes to animals on the flag; Sri Lanka is the GOAT, Wales is amazing & it's around my top 10 but Sri Lanka is my top 2 I will admit this is kinda bias as I am a Pakistani so I do feel an inclination towards the flags but i dont care; the country flags here are great

My problem with flags is that they are very often tied to nationalism. Favorite flag is definetly the antifa one. The combination of the red and black looks great and the flags on the flag work.
