As a Physical Therapist for 34 years I can't tell you the number of older women I treated for total hip replacement who fell due to wearing a slip on type shoe, hundreds. A slip on shoe takes more hip muscle strength than normal due to the foot instability as a result of the heel being unsupported in the shoe. As we get older many women exhibited significant balance loss due to hip muscle weakness. Hip muscle weakness doesn't usually come to light unless it's necessary to stand on one foot to raise the other to put on pants in standing for example or even to step into something. Hip muscle weakness is one of the primary reason for falls.

I'm only half way through this, but I love how you're not bashing any brands or the actual items. I always avoid these videos because it's become such the "it thing" to talk badly about certain brands (Louboutin, LV, Chanel, etc). It's like once an item becomes really popular people feel the need to trash it, even though it became popular for a reason. I really appreciate that you're explaining how this stuff just didn't work for you personally.

Ladies please remember your investment pieces can be conditioned by the store. Keep the receipt. I have a sentimental bag I received from a loved one that passed away. Like clock work, each Tax Day it goes to Neiman Marcus and is reconditioned for $25-$100.00 depending on what is needed. I do this for shoes as well. Most shoes I maintain every two years. I have my first pair of Via Spiga Boots from 20 years ago because of taps or new heels regularly. The classics do not go out of style. I ran into an Ex and he asked, are those the boots I bought you. I still love those boots. They were the boots. We laughed! Our maintenance is a part of self care, so remember our investment pieces need maintenance too.

Riggins Riggins yes yes and yes!! Thank you for this reminder. I was just saying to a friend how it saddens me to see cobblers/shoe maker is a dying trade. There are few and far in between. I loved and miss so much having my local cobbler because its who I brought most of my goodies to for maintenance. He did such a good job always and so inexpensively. I remember growing up in Brooklyn , going with my dad to the cobbler down the street and just watching him resole and work on our shoes and sometimes my moms purses. The scent of the leather in his shop I loved so much. I believe its where my love of luxury subconsciously began as I was only a small child ☺️ I apologize got a little sidetracked there but yes simple maintenance makes such a difference!

Two things: I think you don’t feel good in the pink BEAUTIFUL Gucci kitten heels, because you are just use to either a more chunky heel or higher heel. You are NOT too big for them, its just a different look and they looked beautiful on you in the picture you showed us. And I love it when you say “I wanted to get them for US” that is what I mean by you making us feel like we are right in your living room and we are all besties. Just so sweet.

I normally don't enjoy watching these vids bc 1. I can't afford lux clothes/bags etc 2. Live in Hawaii and we don't really go for lux items BUT I enjoyed this one Lisa. Hey Lisa! Work has kept me too busy to comment but I always watch without fail since 2004. So I was thrilled to see you do a best and worst roundup! I felt you would regret some of the Tory Burch items. They are beautiful but just not quite “you” in my opinion even though your style has evolved. My favorite looks of yours were when you wore the rocker-chic looks with the Moto jackets and Corey jeans and boots. I also tend to regret impulsive purchases. The only surprise for me was the Bottega Veneta clutch that I thought might be a regret. I’m so glad you love it. With the resurgence of color next season, it will make a fabulous statement. I love black but I also love color. Your black Gucci “G” slides are my favorite of your purchases. I tried to buy them after I saw yours but they were sold out. You have inspired so many of my purchases through the years. I use to live for your Friday hauls. I’m so glad you are doing you and buying what you love and not letting anyone influence you to do otherwise. I have my eye on the Gucci messenger bag and the mini Chanel with pearls on the shoulder strap. All things considered, I will probably not end up with the Chanel! The green is a good shade for a pop of color. That bag looks so much like a Hermès Birkin. I hate bags that leave you fooling around with the clasp. And that’s why my Hermès is always open. That shoe reminds me of a peacock. Those boots are beautiful and you can look good in anything. I know exactly what you mean when you say you bring flip-flops and change into them later. I have Stage 4 Venous Insufficiency and my feet can swell and making any shoe impossible. I’m always in flip-flops and it’s embarrassing. People think I’m nuts...lol

Great video Lisa! I own the Fendi Peekaboo in Regular (medium) and also the Chanel Jumbo, along with the Gucci Princetown shoes and have to agree 1000% with you on these items. All three are my most used favorite items as well. I love your idea on the Peekaboo regarding the shoulder strap. That is really nice looking. I may have to add something like this to mine. Lisa, I, too, have the LV zippy wallet, which I have learned to LOVE once the zipper was "broken in". I find it very easy to just zip it up. My solution with the credit card situation was to purchase a Chanel Caviar black small credit card case. It is the PERFECT solution. If I am going out and have a small bag, I just put my drivers license and credit cards in there. It has worked out great for me. You should DEF try it. Also, I live near Carli Bybel, and she is just as lovely and genuine in person, FYI. Have a great day, XOX!!

Interesting video. I have one pair of Louboutins - the most uncomfortable pair of shoes on the planet. What I do love about them is that the sole of the shoe tells you what brand it is. I cannot stand shoes, purses, tshirts that have the brand name in capital letters. To me, luxury items should be recognizable by the style or sometimes colors. For example the Burberry plaids or Louboutins red sole. The other bad thing about the Louboutins - that red sole comes off almost instantly when wearing just once. I sent my pair to another state to replace that sole with the same red but a more practical texture. I can tell you right now that the cost of those heels - that sole should not have worn like that. I felt like I got ripped off. Love the Chanel bag, their quilting is recognizable even without their logo on it. Very classy. As always, enjoy your videos.

I still can't get over the fact that Louis Vuitton will be making some of their leather goods in Johnson County, Texas!!! Maybe that can help sway some ladies when they're trying to justify a LV purchase. They can add that "Made in the USA" claim to make their husbands feel better. (That has always been a joke between my husband and me when I order things, hoping it buffers all of the money that I've spent while shopping)

Felt like an elephant! you are hilarious! I totally understand what you are saying, sometimes i feel like that in certain things! I think you don't love the tall boots because they have no platform, then go into a severe point. Just different than your usual style. For the LV wallet, take wax paper and rub it all over the zipper, it will slide easier and be nicer to use. I have done this on my pieces from time to time. I LOVE that peekaboo... I want that bag!

First, you pronounced the Antigona purse - perfectly!! I think you should just sell the TB, and get yourself a gorgeous red Antigona, that is a great classic bag- sort of like the Fendi, I thought the TB boots looked amazing on you, I did see that some of the negative nellies had some mean things to say about the boots- I hope that hasn't impacted how you feel about them b/c they look beautiful on you...BUT...if they are just something you know yourself and you aren't going to reach for them, sell them... You got some really amazing and very classical timeless pieces last year, the Chanel, the botega, the Loub's, those TB short black boots, the fendi bag...all really great investments into items you can reach for year after year. I agree with the LV wallet, I can't stand the zip accordian style. I do have a zip around wallet but it's a flat lay, and my cards slip easily in and out and it zips closed smoothly, sometimes we just don't know until we try something if it's going to work for us or not. Many women love that zip accordian style, they are so popular it's hard to find a flat lay wallet anymore! There is a different wallet, also made by LV that I have been eyeing, I think it's the traveler or something like that, it's meant to be able to hold your travel documents but for me I just want a big ole wallet I can stuff a hundred regions in , change, 15 card slots ( at least) and more compartments for cash etc...anyway, I've been looking for 2 years in the lux brands that one is the closest to fit all my needs. If you are interested I'll get the real name for you. The pink Gucci are adorable no doubt but they just dont really seem to fit into your current style, or "vibe" as the kids say, lol. I don't think you are too big for them at all, they just seem very "precious" ...in a way, which nothing else in your style really comes through that way...does that make sense? I do love them, they are 100% Carrie Bradshaw sandles, but I don't know that they are Lisa Lisa D1 sandals.. You know? I I love those Gucci slides, I'm going on the hunt for those !!
