I second your statement on that reel the bullet reel also by zebco won't hold a candle flame to the sheer power of the 888

Thank you for the info on the 888. Couldn't get Zebco to give me the answers after writing 2x. For such a large reel the line capacity is XXXX. Just thought i'd try it out but not now. Thank you very much:)

Zebco Omega gear ratio isn't all that fast but I know it's very durable because I used it for many years. At least 10 years. There was a video who was holding a brand new Zebco omega and telling people the rubber cover button will have a tear eventually but I digress with that guy. Mine went through lots of abuse and was never ripped and still rubbery. I'm not a fan of omega though. Thinking of aiming for bullet model. This model is ok for people who don't mind slow detrivel. I want 5 retrieval rate at min.

The bullet is a reel marketed for push button speed retrieval not power and retrieval that's where zebco missed that mark I personally own and use an older omega pro zo3 black & chrome miles better than the new bullet MG even being 6 yo 7 yrs older than the bullet MG for less $ way better drag response smoother reeling and just overall feel & balance from zebco . .the bullet is great if you only want to target 1_5 lbs fish the omega pro z03 has brought me in a 24& 1/3 lbs. Flathead no problem

I wouldn't trade my old 1956 Zebco Spinner Model 33 for any of those pieces of plastic junk. All Zebco reels made after 1983 are JUNK compared to the older reels. I have been fishing since the early 60's and I have tried a LOT of newer Zebco reels and NONE can hold a candle to the old ones. Even the Old Omega beats the newer model.

Well, I'm glad you like your old 33, but the 888 is not a piece of plastic junk, ol' Sport. I like 33's also, but the 888 is a really good reel and goes way beyond the old 33.

The only Zebco 888 worth a damn was the one first introduced in 1974. I have an 888 exactly like the one talked about here and the damn foot snapped off while fighting a 40 lb blue cat so yeah I know what I'm talking about. Go have another beer and STFU "o'l Sport" @@mikedurhan9941

The Omega is quality heavy metal, especially for its size; nothing cheap & plastic about it. I have the Omega zo2. In fact, I just took it to Turner's Outdoors to change the line on it, & the salesman who sells high-dollar reels, said this zebco model was a great reel.
