As someone who has recently tried to do EPG, I say avoid it like the plague unless you want to drop serious cash on this game and have been playing ages. There are some good easy-to-get items but also LOADS of great consoles and traits that are zen/box locked unfortunately. Saying that, this is a good video in a world with not many good EPG guide videos.

My GF runs a very budget friendly Dranuur that works with minimal cost. You just need to lean more heavily into the BOFF skills instead of expensive consoles and traits.

You have to get your EPG Console from the, space station sorry I forgot the space station name in the delta space that stack up five times.

amazing video :) appreciate taking the time to highlight all those key-EPG-building-ships ! , next try to hit that button " show details", it will give you a better information on the ship stats / bridge officers seating / Starship trait (if you are in orbit you can even see live update of starship trait Bonuses) , better than that wall of text.

The Equinox is fun too as while "pilot" ship traits aren't the best for Sci, the extra mobility is nice especially if doing torp-sci.

Thanks for the vid, could you share the ship's stats in sol orbit as to what the EPG/Control numbers? My best ship so far (Terran Monitor Miracle Worker Carrier [T6-X2]) has Ship Control Expertise @231 and Ship Exotic Particle Generator @499 I'm still working on getting this setup moved over to both, the Terran /SF Crossfield Science Spearhead to include the Glenn and see their numbers.

Causal Anchor, causal as in Causality, wich is kinda the opposite to Casuality. EDIT: The advice about using science and universal heavy seating is actually the best one I heard regarding EPG damage. Guess, Im going to rework my humble Fleet Olympic. Thanks!

Interesting not to see any exotic scaling tops on your build. I'm guessing from the look of it that yours is a build leaning heavily towards console ability damage, from the presence of cutting tractor beam and the plethora of console clickies at the expense of amplifiers or focusers, with as many uncon procs as possible to reduce their cooldowns, which double as spore procs, and are better at spamming boimler than something like torp spread or tactical team would be if using the Lt seat for a tactical officer. Though, how come you chose chrono/timeline rather than tykens/chrono as anomalies? True there is shared cooldown with gravity well, and it is an extra uncon proc, but with an IPG gravwell, activating tykens before gravwell goes below 15s cooldown so that it's not affected by the shared cooldown by the time the gravwell expires, would not only proc spore, but tyken is also a secdef proc, and a much longer lasting anomaly for subsequent spore procs compared to timeline, capable of sitting alongside a gravwell for 15s before having to refresh the gravwell, not taking aftershock gravwells into account either. I'd be curious to see what the procs are on the rest of your gear, namely your secdef which I don't actually recognize, but also your deflector, impulse engines, and fore/aft weapons (I'm guessing CritD). I don't actually recognize any of the weapons on your build other than the discovery rep weapons; it's hard to infer their energy type, but I assume anything other than disruptor wouldn't make much sense here, but that begs the question, how do you get sufficient weapon power for them to deal any meaningful damage? Are some of them there just for set bonuses that I'm not aware of? For that matter, where are you actually getting your CtrlX from, and what are your base EPG/CtrlX before support configuration or any other buffs? Sorry if that's a lot of questions, you just genuinely have me pretty intrigued, since console leaning exotic builds aren't something I ever really do; I typically go for an anomaly & secdef lean.

1. Weapons don't matter on this build other than for set bonuses. 2. You only need maybe 300 EPG for most science builds. Putting a lot more will rob you of damage. 3. Console actives are where the majority of damage comes from on these builds. A good amount of the passives on these consoles also provide EPG and ControlX so that handles most of what you need. Nic probably has 350 EPG/Control on this build. 4. This build does most of its damage with consoles. Anomalies and science boff abilities are mostly there to control the battlefield, reduce the cooldown on consoles via Unconventional Systems, and to deal radiation damage over time with the secondary deflector. Sorry Nic, got kinda pulled into this answer. 😅
