Rothschild used the stock market the last day of the French Napoleon war to cash out high, crash the market, buy it back for pennies, and as the saying is, "Bought England overnight". It is the Rothschild's, Morgan's, Rockefeller, Warburgs that OWN America, and Citizens of it. They own the Federal Reserve, The Central Bank, the IRS, and countless corporations, the media. @@elizabethsohler6516Of course this crime is more devastating to the elderly, for several reasons. Older folks are often not of sound mind in later years, and taking advantage of this vulnerability is about as cruel as it gets. Older folks typically have a lifetime of savings, as opposed to more moderate savings of a younger person, therefore the dollar loss is greater for the elderly. Most importantly, the elderly have far less time left in their lives to go back to work to recover from such a loss, and they are often not even ABLE to work, due to health issues. A loss later in life can pose a desperate situation for the elderly. In fact, Bernie Madoff's elderly sister was so desperate after her brother lost all of her money, she shot her husband and then committed suicide because they no longer had the funds necessary to sustain their lives. Social security...is a joke. Regarding the level of "evilness"...I have no doubt older people suffer more from a crime like this.

"Land of second and third chances" does imply that people have had a chance in the first place. What chance do most of us really have, with the "wolves" out there, the sharks circling, the vultures waiting to pick over what's left- all awaiting the unassuming, those who make the "mistake" of trusting another person who appears to be helpful. Not all of us invest (or have money enough to do so), but what these guys do really affects all of us. It affects the way we view one another, with concepts like basic decency, generosity of spirit and the benefit of the doubt being lost or abandoned as being the territory of "suckers." Every time white-collar crime is waved away as being all but victimless, we make the world a little less empathetic. It DOES matter, and the money doesn't come out of thin air. I'm glad you enjoyed the movie and everything, but this is a real guy who robbed _real_ people. Grow TF up FFS. A "legend" wouldn't have to rob old people of their life savings so he could buy Ferraris, hookers, qaaludes, and blow. A legend would offer a quality product or service to society and reap some well deserved profits.

It never occurred to me- why not, I'm not sure- that addicts on Wall Street might be using, in part, to assuage feelings of guilt. This is part of addiction: trying to suppress feelings and memories, often of our own behavior. (The "F-its," I call this, trying to not care.) It should be obvious to anyone that this would create a vicious cycle, particularly in a person who is not naturally a psychopath. It's easy to lie to yourself about why you're using, too. You may think you're a badass, but really you are powerless, and hurting on some level because you really DO care. Wall-street trader is only one of a number of professions in which drug abuse is rampant, encouraged, or part of the culture (include alcohol, and the list expands). Some of these jobs are lucrative; none are worth your soul- and eventually your life. Please consider this when planning your career, and take care with matters of conscience- as suppression of conscience "after the fact" doesn't work so well.

$10 was what he spent on the first day; obviously once he sold out he needed to buy more ice cream from the supplier as well as more ice boxes. It was poorly worded, but he probably made $20,000 in profit total during the whole venture.

I had 100 shares of Jaguar (before Ford owned it) at the time when Oct. 19 hit. The broker I had panicked and begged me to sell it. I said "No...this is just a temporary aberration". I held onto it...sold it a few years later and made a 100% profit on it. I lived through the 2008 crisis where I lost 30% of my investments. However, I kept buying....all the way down (and yes, it was frustrating..but I couldn't believe how many shares I was getting every time I bought. Everything WAS on sale.) ....and all the way back up.....and beyond. It paid off. Don't panic.....investing is for the long-term....give it time and you'll do fine....and yes, there will be ups....and there will be downs...but overall, you'll come out ahead....assuming you give it enough time. Stick with mutual funds....you will get rich...but slowly......ultimately the turtle does win the race. With single stocks, you can get rich....but normally NOT unless you live and die doing the research and with luck on your side. It's very tough. I don't recommend it. If you do decide to buy single stocks -stay with blue chip stocks and stay away from "penny" stocks at all costs. Invest with fund companies and NOT scammy, shyster brokers like this piece of trash. I've invested since 1987...and I"ve NEVER had a mutual fund company call me to try to sell me anything. Never trust your money with ONE person.... Side note: The movie is rated just R...at some points it should be rated soft porn.....just my opinion.

I think they called people ignorant to stocks. Just random workers, retired people. You see that scam with coins, just anything. They knew smart investors would never fall for their penny stocks. It takes a certain amount of greed to for it to work. Everyone Loves Money, no matter what they say. Except a very few of us. And I've lived with it, and without it. My living today is quite disgusting. Because I've removed myself far from it.

It does seem like that would be the case since they make movies about him and put someone popular like Leonardo DiCaprio to play him. I think they should have put the most annoying and unpopular actor to play him. Not Leo. What guy wouldn't want to be Leo. Some people that watch this might even start to aspire to be like that because they'll start to believe that's cool. So I think it's the media's fault for making him popular.

No. Not everyone is immortal. Immoral people should be restricted to only dealing with other immoral people. There should be segregation..people without conscience and morals and have no love for their own mankind , they should only deal with each other dishonest and deceit would destroy each other and no honest hard working good people could be harmed by them.unfair business practices would not exist for those who were fair minded people who want to see their fellow man prosper. And not looking for power over others to rule over others to control others. They are the immature insecure brats who need to force people to do what they want . They are the needy . We canskr no good deal with them BB because we do not need to control someone else to have a self esteem. Immature offenders looking for victims, shou ok d prey off each other. Civilized society should not have to deal with these depraved minds. We could demand they be executed or imprisoned, but we would be fine for them to go play their stock market monopoly game on some island, Beself sufficient and stay away from us.

If he'd have lived in Brooklyn like I did the Catholics and the Jewish got along great, we all left early from school to do religious study. We had mixed race public school's with much better education then here in Florida and we weren't treated as less then because we're Sicilian. My Mom babysat for children until my sister turned into a biter and then she worked across the street as the manager of the laundry matt. I loved Brooklyn N.Y. at that time, I had friends all in the neighborhood we were allowed to play outside until the outside lights came on , we'd play hopscotch and sometimes street hockey. Where the game would be stopped for a car and we'd all yell "Car!" It was a great we even had monthly neighborhood parties, where the Parents would bring platters of food for sharing the Broadway actress who played Annie came through and would wave from the Car. It was affordable and I miss a dirty water frank and a Kanish sold at practically every corner in Brooklyn, N.Y. and I haven't had a decent one in years nor my "Aunt" Jenny who was my Sicilian off the boat Grandma's best friend who was Jewish but I truly thought she was my real Aunt, and they taught each other there recipe's. My Grandma could make a great matzo ball soup another dish I haven't had in forever and I miss the old Brooklyn which is now gentrified and unrecognizable, it has no heart of Brooklyn, N.Y anymore
