One BIG error - yacht charters are NEVER "all included". They always are chartered at a base rate, PLUS all "Chargeable Expenses", meaning virtually everything that goes into the guest service, and certainly both fuel and dockage. These expenses typically raise the actual cost of the charter by circa 1.25 to 1.5 times the base rate. Geoff Rohde

Many yacht charters are 'all inclusive", with a somewhat structured itinerary. Why don't you GOOGLE before you say something next time?
@geoffrohde2886
@geoffrohde2886 2 жыл бұрын
@@maxsdad538 Why don't you just get serious instead? What makes you think that fuel is free, let alone marina docking fees also? At which point, you can also try doing some simple arithmetic sometime - like for instance, if you cut the time in between two points to half, you have to double to speed to do it, and IF the boat is even capable of it, that will certainly raise the fuel costs to something a good bit more like four times the previous value (i.e. - NO, it is NOT a linear relationship!). Ergo - the only way that charters are ever going to be specified as being "All inclusive", is if a charter agency has already made those specifications in advance, and then offered them to prospective clients as such. That may well be done - and by somebody who does know what they're doing. You may verify anything which I have said with any of the boat management brokers. Geoff Rohde
@guerrillaentrepreneur5999
@guerrillaentrepreneur5999 2 жыл бұрын
@@maxsdad538 All-Inclusive Yacht Charters - Some charters (mainly catamaran and mono-hull charters in the Virgin Islands) offer all-inclusive rates. That means rates are based on the number of guests, and they include all food and drink, water sports, and fuel costs. Docking fees and taxes, though, are usually charged separately. Plus Expenses Charters - Rates for larger motor yachts do not include running expenses, which must be paid separately. For these luxury charters, the base price is for the yacht only. Additional expenses, i.e. food, bar, fuel, docking fees, port taxes, and other expenses, are charged separately. Most frequently, the running expenses are paid by an Advance Provisioning Allowance, or APA, which is typically 35% of the base price; this is an amount that’s paid prior to the charter. The Yacht - The year the boat was built, the builder, previous owners, and the boat’s selection of water toys can also increase the cost of a yacht. Boats can also develop a reputation, i.e. the largest or most luxurious, or having a famous builder or previous owner. Reputation can also affect pricing. Season - Prices typically increase in the high season - i.e. high summer in the Mediterranean or winter in the Caribbean - and decrease in low seasons. Destination - Your charter destination also plays a role in charter cost. For example, prices increase in areas without large charter fleets (i.e. the Galapagos), whereas Bahamas yacht charters, BVI charters, or Mediterranean yacht charter are priced more competitively.

I mean, even at 10% interest someone with $1 billion will be making more in a week than many people make in a lifetime of hard labor. I agree though that it is what it is... we have billionaires and there are some that I would rather see have that kind of money than others.

The difference in wealth between the rich and the middle class these days is staggering. It wasn't like this 30-40 years ago. I grew up in a slightly upper-middle class household. We had a veteran NFL football player who lived just a few houses up from us. They were definitely the wealthiest family on the block, but they weren't anything like NFL families today. Their house was slightly bigger, they had nicer cars and they took better vacations. That was about it. Same goes for CEOs back then compared to today. Gordon Gecko would be a small fry by today's standards.
@alainportant6412

Hell no. This is insane. If anything, the middle class has never had higher standards of life. The only difference is that we now get to see how rich people actually live, which makes a huge difference. You can thank tabloids and instagram for that, but regardless, a 2024 dude basically has the same access to resources as a russian oligarch, in terms of heating, access to food supply chains and information. You didn't want to be middle-class 200 years ago when the Vanderbilts were the richest kind around, the wealth gap was inhumane and you just had to deal with it because there was no information for the masses. These days? poor people are getting a break and they should feel lucky.

They smile on camera but last time I was in Monaco I saw a few multi millionaires with huge yachts and one must have been a billionaire. Not one of them looked happy, they all looked really angry and stressed and were doing nothing, just strolling along with a bunch of glorified prostitutes and "friends". I thought meh, maybe I've just happened to see them at a bad time. A few hours later, driving out of Monaco and stopping to get petrol, there was a guy in cream Armani and Ralph Lauren yelling at an attendant to be careful with his car - a bright lime green Ferrari. The attendant hadn't even gone near the stupid thing yet. I can't even imagine how awful it would be getting so stressed out about insane property like that.. It'd also be near impossible to make and maintain any kind of genuine relationships with anybody also, and sex with prostitutes would get old very quickly. I always thought that if I ever managed to make huge amounts of money somehow that I'd probably try to keep it as secret as possible rather than flashing my wealth to everyone.

@@KaesOner I think you're missing the point. I don't think everyone WANTS this. Everyone's definition of success is different. I personally wouldn't want to live these peoples lives. Sure having some of these things are nice, who wouldn't want to cruise around in a yacht? But I'm sure these people have missed out on experiences and a different type of life because of their things. Having stuff doesn't always liberate you but ties you down, and what Kel mentioned is being tied down to trying to be accepted by others by how much you have.
@KaesOner

@@benjamingazdik These guys can experience ANYTHING they want... so i have to disagree. I do agree however that everyones definition of success is different and some put certain value on different things, but i dont buy statements of what the original poster had said as i think it is just a way to subconsciously try and make their own life feel better. You can feel sorry for someone you can physically see who is having a hard time, getting hurt physically or emotionally. But to say you feel sorry for someone living their best life and have a made up perception that they may be "lacking/missing/longing" for something that you cant prove is just a cop out to try and convince yourself of why you arent as successful as they are.

If I was somehow found and written to via email or other, I would simply reply "pigeon" and send it. He might be successful but I consider him inefficient for not having a website. That's the whole idea. The rich do not know how to enjoy life, so they show of what money they have by being selfish and wasting it. The fuel bill alone for these are hundreds of thousands.

Well pretty much nobody is getting a yacht for anything other than just pleasure. But doesn’t mean that at that level it is just a waste of money. It gives them access to the most exclusive yacht clubs, it’s a conversation starter and in short is great for networking, getting advice, etc. Also a lot of people sleep better on a yacht which makes them more productive and healthier. So why wouldn’t you if you’re at the point where money has no value anymore

Everyone thinks “oh, that’s not a job your just taking time on a boat…” and I’m like “ no way, I gotta hang out and take pictures ( for 4K a hour…)”. 😫 life’s so hard

1% of the ppl in the world... If 1% of the ppl in the world could afford a Yacht, the world would be littered in yachts. More like 0.00001%.

True. However there are millions of millionaires in the USA alone. However these boats are not for small-time millionaires. There are lots of millionaires in my town. None of them could afford these.
