There’s a certain appreciation of their lifestyle, but their hardship isn’t negated in the process. White people reading this: what Sonny does is way better than White philanthropists coming in to third world nations to ‘help’ the people. This is respectful and authentic, helps local economy without compromising their autonomy, and generally raises awareness. Thanks for your show, Sonny :)

Wonderful, I didn't think Anthony Bourdain could be replaced but I'm bingeing on your episodes since I stumbled on your channel. Learning a lot of a country besides their food. Emmy worthy.

Goose bum! I luv it! Joel is great and his explanation of the ppl may b poor but rich in family was great. This is what's great about u Sonny, it's not just about the food but the ppl and culture and their struggle. Wonderful segment, yr a true person. Yr humor an strong presents together makes for an awesome host!!! Yr definitely up there with Anthony Bourdain and Andrew Zimmern. 👊🖐️

@@CallmeDaddy21 @Hashirama Senju Do tou remember the U.S. during the Great Depression? If the economy fails, a good portion of the people struggle to survive. I lived on a farm. We only needed dental and hospital occasionally. But people always need food.

What is really good about this... Is the 'off the cuff', casual conversation. "Everyone seems really happy around here, I dunno." That very casual tone is quite good. And don't think I've missed the semi-second long cuts of the host's face expressing various things. There's been 2 or so that I've seen in the last two episodes. Either way, something magical is happening here. Mar 10th, 2019? Right on, man, keep it up.

Ok, I found you recently and just watched all four Madagascar episodes. I can just say that I enjoyed them all. You presented Madagascar the way I want to visit it now. Keep up with good work and I'll keep following you.
