3:01 about what Calvin called "forbidden sticky rice", I think he misheard the word. In Vietnamese, we call it "nếp cẩm". "Nếp" means sticky rice and "cẩm" is an old Vietnamese word that means purple referring to the color of the rice. Calvin might think the women said "nếp cấm" instead of "nếp cẩm". The word "cấm" in Vietnamese means forbidden. FYI, we have six tones in Vietnamese. In a lot of situations, two words may look the same like "cẩm" and "cấm". By changing those little marks on top, we can have different words with totally different meanings.

@@ObsessedwithGrowth940 it can be call nếp cẩm/nếp than, so here is my point, use to identify sticky rice when I choose to buy: you can see in the video, it has two types of the purple colors, light and dark. Both of them has the same ingredient to make the color, which is magenta plant or "lá cẩm" in Vietnamese, but the dark sticky rice is slightly different, it use the normal sticky rice mix with black rice (or forbidden rice - Vietnamese - nếp than). So basically, both of them are made from "lá cẩm", so both can be called xôi lá cẩm or xôi nếp cẩm. But the dark color is mixing with black sticky rice, so people tend to use "xôi lá cẩm" to call out for the light color, and "xôi nếp than" for the dark color. Black rice is also called Forbidden rice, so the english name is Forbidden sticky rice
