I think that “park builders “ or “sims” evolve over time more then any other genre . If it’s a 7.5 now (which is what I figured it would get on release ) , I could see it absolutely being a 8.5-9 by the end of its cycle . The only thing I do not understand is why there is no system to share and your parks online ! You can even set tours and exhibits , so let me go to a park , walk around and be a “customer” at other parks . You could even have this be a “passive income” type situation. I’m hoping this gets added at some point and could absolutely see a expansion based around this when the film comes out

My ten changes/additions for this game in no particular order. 10. Customization for the lagoons and aviaries. 9. Nerf for pack hunting and buffs for herbivores. 8. More rides, like boat tours, kayaking, tree houses, etc. 7. Bringing back old sandbox settings. 6. More extreme terrain tools. 5. Re-adding the old skins from the first game. Two examples of this would be the blue and yellow Suchomimus and half of the Acrocanthosaurus skins. You know which ones. 4. If not #5, then added skin customization. 3. A novel DLC with a novel map, 3 dinosaurs (Othnelia, Hadrosaurus, and Coelurosaurus), novel buildings, and novel skins (leopard Dilophosaurus). 2. Adding in missing dinosaurs from the franchise, such as Segisaurus, Microceratus, and Concavenator. 1. The addition of new species, like Argentinosaurus, Mapusaurus, Protoceratops, Utahraptor, Seismosaurus, Minmi, Plateosaurus, Eoraptor, Shonisaurus, Tenontosaurus, and Saurophaganax.
@markcobuzzi8263 жыл бұрын
Adding to what you said, these are currently some of my ideas: 1.) Certain pack-hunting interactions should only occur in specific circumstances, like when one of the carnivores involved is starving. 2.) Sauropods should sometimes successfully counterattack a medium or large carnivore, attempting to take a bite out of it. 3.) Why can the Tylosaurus not feed from the shark crane? Would they not want to get the most out of their shark feeder mechanic? 4.) The carnivores’ prey requirement should be based on the variety of stationary/live food, rather than an arbitrary amount of goat feeders. Stationary food sources can add one point (like a meat tray, meat crane, and fish tray), live prey types can add two points (such as other dinosaurs, goats, fish ponds, cows, pigs, chickens, and rodents), and any preferred food sources will contribute an extra point. 5.) Lagoon feeders could have cosmetic options to change the prey dispensed (like squid and shrimp as alternatives to small fish), and there could be a variant that dispenses larger fish (like tarpon or tuna). 6.) Escaped Pterosaurs could at least swoop down and snatch small fish swimming around in lagoons, at which point they could also be vulnerable to marine reptiles. 7.) The JW-era should have a JPOG-style viewing dome, since the JP-era appears to have an amphitheater. Also, the JP-era could have a JPOG-style balloon tour, since the JW-era has monorails. 8.) Possible future Pterosaurs could be Rhamphorhynchus, along with Azhdarchids which may prefer goats over fish (I presume Quetzalcoatlus will be added with JW Dominion DLC). 9.) Possible future marine reptiles could be Dolichorhynchops, Nothosaurus, Cymbospondylus/Temnodontosaurus, Shastasaurus/Shonisaurus, and Pliosaurus (which be draw influence from WWD’s Liopleurodon and also use shark feeder). 10.) Other unique dinosaurs that could be added are Therizinosaurus, Deinocheirus, Zuniceratops/Protoceratops, Shantungosaurus, Tarbosaurus, and Oviraptor (may be added with JW Dominion DLC).

For the lagoon we need more diversity of food for marine reptiles (decorative food) like free living sharks, big shoals of sardines, or herrings or shrimps for ichthyosaurs and plesiosaurs, squids. And maybe some benthic food like flat fishes, stingrays, crabs and lobsters. This allows not only diversity of food for marine reptiles, but also a biggest diversity of hunting behaviors and, of course, living decorating! And why not, some Ammonites and Belemnite !

Okay, so give me some large herbivore aggro interactions, Edmontosaurus was a boss monster, not just carnivore fodder, a tail whip by a brachiosaurus should be game over for any dinosaur, no matter feeding preference, and if you're keeping small dinosaurs in the sauropod enclosure? Expect some deaths. Make each fight more random, include spontaneous encounters, tail nips and power tests. One of the big issues I had with the first game was those tedious fight set ups, it just felt separate to the rest of the game, almost like a work around, and it really took away from the immersion for myself. All the pathing issues, jittering, walking and sliding sideways, weird phasing and clipping issues. Atleast once, i have seen a dinosaur not wanting to leave the Creation Lab (where have i seen that before?). The combat between 2 flying animals is not good and in the water it is not that great either. 2. The lagoon is absolutely soulless. Atleast shallow water should have been there (for visibility and as safe space for smaller animals). 3. Sauropods cant fight back... again. 4. Planteaters just standing there to get killed. Any cornered animal should eiher fight back or try to run away. A defending herbi needs to be able to injure attackers = driving them away. 5. If packhunting gets fixed great!. But where is pack defending? (Atleast some kind of intimidation mechaning when animals stay together.) We will see. But the current state of the game is not that convincing.

Healthy herbivores should try to find its family (strength in numbers or attempt to escape/outrun its hunters). 2. Standoff where the herbivors try to drive its attackers away by display of size/roar or by attacking the aggressor. If the attack is succesfull,(depending on the desperation of the attackers) the attackers should retreat. Carnivores are normally not interested in risky fights, they hunt the young, the old or the ill. 3. The actual fight is my biggest issue. The herbivores just stand there and wait to be jumped on. I had 5 Dilophosaurs in one enclosure, I got so tired of dealing with it I started selling the injured ones. Got down to 3, they fought, I sent one to the medical bay and while it was there the remaining two fought. No one going to mention how flimsy the tails are?? In the first game they were too stiff and held too low. Now they’re like flappy noodles with no skeleton. Really hope that gets fixed along with the animation transitions i.e the running animations that look like sidesteps or some funky dance

OK, all the animations are awesome, but it's just one animation for one action, and when you saw an animation once, you know you will see it again and again and again and this is quickly boring. The ideal would be to have several animations for one same action. For example 2 or 3 different random animation for eating or drinking. This would make the dinosaurs more fun to watch, because they would be more unpredictable in their actions!

I'm gonna be honest. The only thing I dislike are how you cant mix brushes. Example. If you brush over a area that was brushed with a diff brush. It replaces it instead of mixing the foliage. And you should be able to use all the biome tools and such on diff sandbox maps. I hope frontier allows Brushes to be mixed instead of replacing the foliage already there. Lagoons would be awesome with some under water tunnel for guests. Submarines. And even having Underwater foliage to brush down in them. However they are probably my only complaints. If Frontier makes it so you can mix foliage it will be a incredible improvement and allow for quite a bit of customization. I also think stuff like ship wrecks maybe will be cool to add in the bottom of lagoons. Rather unrealistic but an amazing visual right? I also think Skeleton Statues, Indom bones for the mosa? Would be cool. And personally Hit boxes for rocks need to be removed completely. The limit to how close foliage can be placed next to structures needs to just not exist. It would allow people to really fill in blank gaps of there parks with foliage

Gonna be honest, was hyped for the game, then when the embargo lifted my hype was just killed, and this review pretty much confirmed I was right to hold off on getting it. I enjoyed the first one but the management aspects of it were shoddy at best, and it seems while they did try to address it they focused a lot more on improving the game everywhere else and it really seems the only impactful management change made to the game was scientists, and I don't even really know if I like them because they feel a little too much like an artificial progress slower rather than actually being fun. A big part of the first game was multitasking, especially in a fresh park, and it looks like scientists actively prevent that and I'm not sure I'll enjoy having that restricted.

For the JP era aviaries it would make sense to simply use the caged aviary accessible in the campaign with its corresponding viewing gallery and Hatchery. Oh and the amphitheater should be a viewing attraction!

Hope this can help to make it a New , Great and One of a Kind JWE 2 New Game and not just a better version of JWE 1. I know some things will be in at release date and others would not be , but Hope to be added in the future content. Other things won't make it at all for reasons. It would be nice to see a couple of what is reten on the list from each title ( 1 - 5 ) reach the New Game. 1. New/More Attractions : Viewing Dome/High Hide , Water Rides and Hang Gliding (Land/Water/Air Rides).These are things we have Seen and Heard in the Book Novel , Movies and Animated Series and would Love to see in the Game. Viewing Dome/High Hide the Entrance can Click on the Fence/Road and the Dome/High Hide will be in the Enclosure in the Ground/Trees could work like the Viewing Gallery/Viewing Platform but Inside an Enclosure. The Water Rides you can chouse between Kayak (for Guests who want a Nature Relax Ride) , MotorBoat (for those seeking more Luxury) and Submarine (for Adventure Thrill seekers) could work like the Gyrosphere (Nature)/Truck Tour (Adventure)/Park Tour (Luxury) which are Land Rides. For Air Rides A two person Paragliding (for Nature seekers) Hot Air Balloon of six people in the basket (for Luxury) Powered/Motorized four seater Hang Gliding (for those who seek Adventure) you can pinpoint a few spots and it can either return to base were it started or have a Terminal somewhere else on the map at some distance. Buildings like Bridges (going over/above an enclosure like the Raptor Paddok in JP , JW) , Tunnels/Water Tunnels (going through an enclosure/tanks like the T-Rex Kingdom in JW). We Don't need rollercoasters , we need Attractions that would Bring our Guests Close to our Dinosaurs. "Walking With Dinosaurs" if you get what I mean. 2. New/More Guest/Staff Animations : Rescuing/Saving Staff and Guests when Lost in a enclosure after a disaster hits with the Response Team.Each Amenity Building when Hiring Staff they would clean the area around the Shop.Taking out the Garbage , Sweeping the Floor , Watering/Trimming the Plants.Putting in Shops a Selling Weather Coverage Product Type Selection.Raincoats/Jackets and Umbrellas when raining , snowing.We can't have our Guests in Shorts and T-Shirts in a Snowstorm. 3. New/More Buildings/Environment Scenery/Biomes and Customizable Size : Return of the Greenhouse. Paleobotany Feeders for our Herbavore Dinosaurs to be Fed in Difficult Weather Conditions (blizzards , heatwaves , sandstorms , snowstorms). Puting down Scenery Waterfalls , Hot Streams , Volcanic Blowholes , Caves/Water Caves. Alpine Environment Biome could have Earthquakes for a Disaster (like the others have Tornado , Sandstorm etc) and maybe in a Future Content a Swamp Environment Biome with Flood Disasters. And by Customizable meaning using the Whole Island , Isla Nublar in Sandbox Mode reshaping it as we like.(Quoting Dr. Alan Grant in JP3. '' This is how you play God''.) 4. New/More Teams : Engineer Team for Park Maintenance with a Pickup Truck.We have Seen and Heard in the Movies/Book how Proud they talk about having the Best Engineers in the world , why not see them in Action.Checking and giving us Building Status Report , Responsible for Constructing Buildings , Repairing , Cleaning park and Dinosaur pens/aviaries/water tanks , restaurants , toilets , viewing areas , Attractions etc.Having a Building with the Pickup Truck.Sending out pickup trucks to repair (just like we did with the ranger jeep) instead of the Response Team. Hiring Engineers like the New Scientists/Research System.The Response Team will deal with whatever has to do with Park Security , Containing Dinosaurs , Rescuing Guests and Staff. 5. New/More Dynamic Animations for Aquatic/Avian and Land Dinosaurs : Playing - Grooming - Hunting - Fighting/Defending - Escaping - Sick - Uncomfortable. Rolling on their Back on the Ground Dirt/Grass , All Dinosaurs (Land , Avian , Aquatic) Jumping and Splashing around in the Water Especially Aquatic should be slashing playing or standing still on the surface of the water. (All Plesiosaurs should be able to stretch their neck above the water reaching for food , Ichthyosaurus should be jumping out and in the water like Dolphins). And for land Dinosaurs maybe a little Digging animation before Resting , for Fun or for Building their Nest. Cleaning Themselves in the Water or having themselves a Mud Bath , Scratching their Body's on Trees/Rocks. Fighting/Defending as a Herd/Group. Sleeping and Lying down Closer Together as a Herd/Group and on their Side and Back and Not Only on their Belly.Hope to see More Dinosaurs , Herbavores and Carnivores Climbing Fences or at least try , Not only Raptors and Dilophosaurus 2 out of 85 species. Randomize Skin Color for each Egg Individually from Hatchery. These are things we have seen in the Book , Movies , Animated Series , Toys and Older Games. Hope to see a couple of these (quoting every movie) ''Come to Life'' in the NEW GAME.

I appreciate the review, well done. I personally am not sold on JWE2 at the moment; it really feels like a big DLC for the first game rather than a true sequel. There are still too many things that I take issue with: -the lack of key sandbox options -the lagoons being very lackluster -herbivores being fodder for carnivores -sauropods being pathetic and useless in any combat situation -the continued lack of dinosaur breeding/baby dinosaurs despite the entire premise of the game being that dinosaurs are breeding like mad all across the world, that's why you need to recapture them in the campaign -the lack of any other fun or interesting guest attractions (like a petting zoo from JW) -the lack of customization when it comes to designing habitats for animals -the fact that storms and especially tornadoes are just annoying and don't really seem to have any influence on how you want to build your park These are the big ones I can think of right now.

Does the difference in design of some of the dinosaurs bother you? Have you considered doing a design review? It really really bothers me how the creatures seem to be designed by 3 completely different people, assets like the oranosaurus and acro are so smooth and plump, then these crocodilian spikey designs as seen some of the new aquatics, carcharadontosaurus and bary and then the “movie” dinos, this stark contrast makes me really not want to use some of the creatures because of how they stand out in the park? What do you think of the design choices in the assets ?

I thoroughly enjoyed JWE1 and I know I will enjoy this one. I liked how it was very similar if not an updated JPOG. That is all I really wanted out of these types of games, and I got even more. There are only two things I really wanted for this game: 1.) Some sort of stair and/or walkways for paths. I couldn't stand how I had to snake a path down a hill or couldn't make walkways above the ground (tunnels would be cool too). Pathing was a pain. 2.) Waterfalls! I really wanted to add epic waterfalls to enclosures. Really, other than those two things, I enjoyed the game. It was an upgrade from JPOG, but not as crazy detailed as Planet Coaster or Zoo (I kinda like just having customization presets like there are in this game. Building all sorts of different buildings from scratch in Planet Coaster was too time consuming, and I just sucked at it, lol. That is also not a diss on Planet Coaster and Zoo. I love those games too, just a bit too much in it for me).

When the entire community gets the game I can see all the issues being pointed out will be solved along with other things like carnivores killing for no reason and their overall over powered selves being nerfed to give the herbivores more of a chance to survive. For pack hunting itself I think a number requirement on Raptors is a good option to also balance it so two Raptors would be needed to take down a hadrosaur while four would be needed to take on a ceratopsid or stegosaur and Nigersaurus and Amargasaurus while the other sauropods should become untouchable by small carnivores and also be harder to kill by larger carnivores, also Ankylosaurs should be off the menu for small carnivores as they wouldn't be able to break through their armour. In terms of individual trees I can see them being added back with even more decorations since you can't go wrong with more options and I would personally like to see a statue of John Hammond added and maybe even Michael Criton too along with normal benches and even more. In terms of more tourist attractions I can see them being added in dlcs, a submarine tour seems quite likely and I would like to see the balloon tour and viewing domes from jpog brought back too and they would be enough for me.

I hope this is the case, if the first game is any indication, they will definitely patch and add things in the future. I am also optimistic that they will listen to the community and fix the right things that need fixing. I 100% agree with everything you’ve said here. Pack hunting should be drastically nerfed and made more obviously realistic which I’m very sure it will be. I also hope they change the dinosaur behavior of the Dino being pack hunted. It should move around more and act as if it’s more aware of what’s happening and feel more alive, but that isn’t a major concern as the Dinos do already feel very alive to a certain degree. Because of my optimism with future updates and fixes, I’m still very excited for the game despite its draw backs at the moment.
