Living in SoCal, I totally get it. You never griped much about the long commutes or the traffic, and that was astonishing to me. People who aren't familiar, don't know that there's only 1 rather treacherous and perilous road, albeit with breathtaking views, in and out of Malibu, PCH. If there isn't road work being done, there's a bad accident, or fire, or rockslides, with traffic being diverted through one of the canyon roads, which are also treacherous. Your move is practical, sensible, and couldn't be more opportune. Looking forward to seeing your new digs. Congrats!

Knowing the area you live in (I use to daily drive a school bus route through there), traffic in Los Angeles, and your commute to work and Orange County, for the longest time I thought "They must be really tired of that traffic!" I grew up in Los Angeles. For 37 years, my commute to school, work and home required me to sit in traffic for at least 4 hours everyday. When I started driving professionally for bus companies and ride-sharing services, I got more annoyed and disgusted by traffic and throngs of people everywhere to the point where I decided to leave L.A. altogether. My current home in Charlotte, NC is unfortunately temporarily many miles and hours away from the nearest Disney park, but the quality of life is so much better here and stress free. Congrats on making the decision to move! I absolutely saw that coming and I look forward to seeing how the free time you now have fuels your creativity.

Maureen B We’re tentatively set for September. The first couple times we had to reschedule, my kids were extremely bummed, so I promised we’d go as soon as possible. We’ve had to reschedule so many times now my kids have lost hope. 😔 But I think we’ll do a less expensive/closer to home trip and save Disneyland for next year. Plus, my family HATES wearing a mask, so it wouldn’t be as fun. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I just moved to Anaheim close to Buena Park on Saturday and I’m excited about starting a new chapter in my life. I was born in Orange but spent the last 27 years of my life in Temecula. I’m happy to be back. :)

@@elizaz3627 Overall, it's a great place to raise a family and is a pretty safe town. I've seen it grow a lot over the years, so it has become more crowded with an increase in crime. Most noticeably though is the traffic trying to get around town kind of sucks. There are a lot of OC housewives there now too (that's not a diss but an observation haha) and overall not someplace I see myself as a 27 year old living. Wine Country there is beautiful, but I don't drink alcohol and am not interested in Bible Study, so I wanted to move someplace less conservative where there are more people my own age who like the same things I do. So far, I like it here in West Anaheim.

Congratulations to both of you for making this decision, and you're right - life is too short! 18 years ago my wife and I decided to move from New Zealand to Australia (Gold Coast) - best decision we made! Were both 45 now and we have an 11yr old daughter. I worked for over 11 years in the Theme Park industry here, but left 2 years ago now to work in the Beverage sales industry. I now get to 'actually enjoy' the theme parks as a guest! I also started a KZbin channel last year (Jaggs Journeys) which is all about Theme Parks, attractions, events, food, car shows and more! We've been to LA twice before - we were due there next month and had so much content planned! Anyway - the goal posts moved, so like you guys did, we changed our vlogs. Our aim is to get to 1000 subscribers so ultimately we can spend more time on KZbin content! Anyway - we love your channel and all your content! Some of my favorite places to go to when I can, The village of Orange is my favorite mall, Eisenhower Park is a good place to go for walks at ( you’re also allowed to bring your puppy too). If you need a church to visit I go to Orange Villa Bible Church.

I live right by the beach too and it has obvious benefits, but there are drawbacks too. Generally the living space is very small, summer can be crowded and loud. The parking situation also tends to be difficult. The beach itself is awesome though and worth it for me. Luckily I’m still less than a half hour from Disneyland. I love it but I totally get what you’re saying. Good luck and Orange County is AWESOME. I’m from LA and I truly prefer OC for a myriad of reasons.

currently we live in the mountains, about 100 miles round trip to disneyland... but right now with everything closed there’s always SO much people here. i mean, it is a hot spot on weekends, summer, snow days as is so imagine it now. i can see how this is going to make things way easier for your lifestyle. cause i tell ya, living out here is pretty cool, but there are so many variables people don’t really know about until you live it.
